Perfect location, but the room is just terrible; everything inside of the room is old and a little bit dirty. Really unprofessional staff!

Good location-bad place
The people there are very flexible and friendly, it’s good located...but... the mattress is old and smells, there’s no enough air to circulate even though there’s fan and AC! I found some bugs on my bed DISGUSTING! I stayed 3 nights in a room for 6 but there was just me... they have to improve all the things related to the rooms!

An unusual hostel in an unusual building.
A very unusual hostel in that it's a former small, 2-level mall. The room I was in had a bit of a jail feeling b/c of the doors & 'walls' were painted steel bars & a lot of concrete, which made the place noisy. The washroom was shared by both males & females which for sinks, toilet & shower stalls was fine as there were no privacy issues but it's a very odd to stand at a urinal & have women walking behind me. The lights & electrical sockets in each bunk were nice touches.

Should be closed
Given that this is Cancun, people should be flocking the hostel closest to the beach. This is not the case here. I booked it on the weekend to stay in the female dorm, I was be only one in the entire dorm, and possibly the entire hostel. Don't be fooled by the other people you see. There is a hotel acctached to this hostel that apparently much nicer and cleaner from what I saw. The hostel is pretty much garbage. The beds are hard, floors are equivalent to that of an unfinished basement. Stains on the bed sheets, cannot flush toilet paper???? Have to use and throw in the garbage. Staff isn't knowledgeable about activities in the area. Constantly giving wrong directions for the bus. It's walking distance from bus stops and food/supermarkets/Starbucks etc. given you're in hotel zone, pretty much everything is close.
No towel, no toiletries. One very flat pillow and one sheet. Beds are covered with tarp before they take it off and give to you.
AC has to be turned on by staff??? Only after 9pm.
Just creepy being that I was the only person there. Moved to another hostel.

Only if you are on a tight budget
The only reason to stay here is if you are on a tight budget and still want to stay in Hotel Zone. Run down, staff not helpful, and not very nice group of people (guests). People smoking (not just cigarettes) in room. . . Of course, being in the hotel zone and steps away from everything is hard to beat. It has a good parking (if you happen to have a car).

Mayapan it's a economic place to stay if you are not going to spend a lot of time inside the hotel and just need it to sleep or shower . Thank u Mayapan I would tell my friends about you!
