Clean, classy, and great location
Location: This is a VERY nice hotel, although in a bit of an *interesting* area... haha. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station and between the station and hotel you will pass a number of shops, restaurants, and men only and women only bars. If that's your thing, by all means stay here! Still, felt safe walking to and from the hotel during the day and at night. A 7-11 is nearby for any snacks you want to pick up. Front desk: VERY easy check-in! If you are staying more than 2 nights and opt to not have your room cleaned, they will give you a tea towel when you check out as a souvenir. Just let them know that first day you stay. They have helpful papers in the front as well: local restaurants (sushi, ramen, 24 hr options), directions and info for going to the Narita and Haneda airports, and more. They will also hold your luggage for you if needed. Room: Clean, decent space (for Japan), free bottled water, pjs, slippers, a safe, CNN in English, an empty mini fridge to store leftovers and drinks, nice bidet, AC. Note: the AC won't work unless you put your keycard in the little slot near the door. You also get a coupon for a free drink (but you need to buy something else to use it). Great experience staying here! Highly recommend. P.S. They listed Taketora on their ramen list and it was the BEST ramen I have ever had! It's a short walk from the hotel. Go there!

Room lik a coffin.
The room was in 2nd floor. Small, crummy and just a one third window facing dried creepers on the outside wall of another building. Staying there felt like in a coffin. Asked for a better room, but said not available.

Area felt not so safe. Bed sheets and pillow covers were rough. Did not feel comfortable, one pillow was way too stiff, the other pillow was flat.

OK Hotel with Terrible Location
The hotel itself was just ok. The room we stayed in was very small and had no closet and no drawers. There was also no coffee in the room. Rather, they had a sign for 100 yen off a cup of coffee at their cafe downstairs. The cafe didn't open until 10am though and the coffee there was 400 yen, which is quite expensive, even for Tokyo. However the worst part about the hotel was the location. It was SO FAR from the JR station. It was a solid 15 minute walk (20 without bags) from that station. It was still at least 10 minutes walk to the subway line. This made exploring areas outside Shinjuku difficult. We ended up taking a taxi to the JR station when we left because it was such a pain to roll our bags over the cobble stones for 15+ minutes. It was about 10 minutes walk to Robot Restaurant and the Golden Gai bars, but that's about it. I would not stay at this hotel again. For the money, there are much better locations in Tokyo.
