First trip to Iceland
This hotel is located on the eastern side of the Ring Road, and is well placed. However it did not stack up against another hotel we stayed in the night before that was 45 min away. Room was not impressive and had very few amenities

Simply wonderful!
This is the probably the best accommodation in the tiny town of Vik, and the best hotel we stayed in while in Iceland. We had a standard room, which was very expensive, and because of the we were told we can’t have an ocean view. When we got to the room we realized that this was such a blessing as the back was full of glass was looking at a wall that seemed filled with mating puffins. We slept eight the curtains open and loved every minute of it. Has we faced the ocean side, we would have seen the roof of other buildings and a glimpse of the ocean. The room was minimally and tastefully decorates, the beds were clean and comfortable, and the shower was incredible. We didn’t buy ththe breakfast as that would have added $60.00 to our already accommodation there. Simply loved this place and highly recommend it. Everything is so expensive in Iceland, but once you get over this, you can enjoy the trip!

Save $$$ and stay somewhere else
This was totally my fault, but I did not expect to be staying in a cabin during our short stay (I thought I booked the actual hotel, so buyer beware). Although mostly clean (the floor was covered in some sand and I assume from the large amount of rain that day, it smelled like the sewers were backing up from the shower drain) this looked to be a bought property of Icelandair and not something they built themselves. You walk into the hotel itself to check in and it's night/day with the appearance compared to the cabin. It was quaint and fit our needs for somewhere to sleep/shower but for what we spent, not worth it at all. Wi-fi was spotty at best and there was no channels on the TV.

Our arrival was great, we had a perfect dinner there. Then we went to bed, the bed was terrible. It had no mattress pad or cover over the 2 twin matresses. I asked for a different room with a better bed and was told they were all the same. The front desk guy kinda blew me off. No one checked the bed. We came back after a day of adventure and I asked again about a different bed or room. This time I had someone who I could yalk to to describe how bad the bed was and why. He immediately got on it, put a cover over the mattress seams and 2 mattress pads. The bed was fine then. I would have thought they would have offered something for selling us a crappy nights sleep, but no. Would not stay there again.
