Great location, smelly
Location was great. Room was excellent. Unfortunately the toilet smelled like sewage the whole 5 days we stayed. We just left the windows open and it was fine. Bathroom and shower area could have been better maintained.

A sure thing. HIGHLY recommend Rian!
This smaller, boutique hotel is located in the back alley's and in the heart of the local restaurants and nightlight/off-the-main strip in Seoul. It was neat and clean, and the front desk staff was polite and helpful, doing their best to accommodate us even through our language barrier. But Rian's location is truly its best attribute. We could walk to EVERYTHING...restaurants, bars, coffee shops, drug stores, local markets, shops, main strip. We drove past the higher-end hotels located deeper in the city (4 Seasons, Westin, etc.), but had we stayed there, we would have had to cab it everywhere that we had within our reach staying at Rian. I will definitely stay at Rian every time I visit Korea.

The location is just a few minutes from Jongro, which is about as central as you can get in Seoul. I can’t stress enough how convenient the location is. Ikseon-dong, which is the new hot area, is just a short walk as well. The hotel is clean and the bed was very comfy.

Comfortable Stay
Hotel Rian was very conveniently located within walking from 2 subway lines (Jongno 3-ga and Eujiro 3-ga) and also easy to walk to from airport bus station on Jong-ro road (bus 6002 to Incheon airport). There's many cafes, bars and restaurants in the area. The staff is friendly and usually will have one person on staff that speaks English. It was interesting that there were several "love motels" nearby but Hotel Rian was for tourists/business traveler types. The rooms are clean, have slippers, toiletry, and heated toilet seat. There's a hot water maker if you want to make ramen from the 7-11 across the street; or you can ask the front desk for Korean fried chicken delivered to your room. We were here for a week and had a very comfortable stay during our time in Seoul. There's a luggage scale in the lobby, and you can even leave your luggage there if you still have time to wander between check-out time and when you need to leave the area. Check out the Isaac Toast nearby! There's a street full of pork belly restaurants, just ask the staff!
