Hidden Gem in an amazing location
What can we say about the Doums Liberius except what an amazing hidden gem. From communication before arrival, ease of arranging airport transfers to the fantastic check in we could not find a fault. The hotel is located in a fairly large building very near stop 2 on the hop on hop off bus tours, if you use their transfer service they literally take you to the door, although it was easy to find with my phones map. The check in is in the main building floor 3, the lift is good and the office is air conditioned. We were greeted at the exit to the lift for ease. From here we were told we were in the other building, which is the same doorway but at the back of the courtyard, the lift here is smaller and more traditional but fine and we were floor 5 so the lift was needed given the heatwave and a 5 year old. The room was great, the keys were explained and the areas were all clean. There is a fridge in the room and a small shared kitchen area although we did not use this. The room was spacious and provided a decent view of the basillica. The air conditioning was needed on the week we were there. Our little boy loved the room and his bed. The hotel is positioned in an amazing location in the heart of Rome with lots of good restaurants around and a supermarket literally next door. The hotel were always available for queries and even helped us out when we forgot our travel adapters. Seriously this was an amazing find and we will book again when we return.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in June 2023 for two nights. We booked it because it was about 5 blocks from the train station and this was the last destination on our vacation. It’s not a full hotel, they have the third floor of a building where the rooms are. No formal check in desk or hotel staff on the premises. They gave easy check in instructions, provided contact information if we needed anything, overall good communication. Very small room with a double bed. Not a comfortable sleep for two people. Good Wifi and air conditioning. A bit of a walk from major attractions but tons of walking in Rome regardless. Grocery store next door. Wouldn’t stay here again because the bed is way too small for two people.

This was a great property for a little trip to Rome! The air conditioning and facilities are really nice. The area is a little unsafe around the train station but that’s to be expected. We felt very safe inside and there were never any issues. The service was great. The only thing was that the oven wasn’t working and the stovetop was broken. It was a little far away from the main sights by walking but not terribly far as we were able to see mostly everything in 2 days. Overall a very nice property and a great stay in Rome!

This small hotel is a remodeled apartment in the old building in a central part of Rome. There are many stairs, gates and coded locks to deal with, before you can actually enter the room. But the building and location are very Roman and atmospheric.
