Grand Mercure Phuket Patong, Patong

My stay at Grand Mercure patong has some mixed feelings. Most of the staff are very welcoming and helpful however the condition of the rooms were disappointing. Once staff became aware, we were offered to move rooms which I accepted for 1 of the 2 rooms we had. However the second room had issues with the aircon not working. The first room was full of mold, when raised with staff I was told that “mold is everywhere in all rooms” The following day I was spoken to by the guest Manager which apologised for the condition of the room and then was offered free dinner and drinks that night to make up for the issues. We declined this as none of the food on the menu we liked. That night we decided to change are flights and head home early due to the condition of the rooms as further issues like the towel rack falling off the wall, aircon not working and towels not being provided that night. Once I advises staff of this. I was then offered a room upgrade which again we declined as our flights had already been changed. I was offered a free transfer to the airport which was accepted and then spoke to the hotel general manager who again apologised for the issues and explained that he will attempt to get us a refund on the unused nights remaining of our stay but he will need to follow up with out travel agent, Expedia about this. I’m yet to hear back regarding this. Overall the hotel is lovely however due to the room issues we decided to end our stay early.

This hotel is AMAZInG. Loved everyday of it. We booked the 1 bedroom villa with private pool. Worth the extra money to be able to spread out more than a typical hotel room as we knew we were going there to relax. The property is in a great location since you can walk right off the grounds and into the night markets. There’s also 7 Eleven and Pharmacy less than a block away for any personal items you may have forgotten. Every single staff member that we interacted with was top notch and made our stay very comfortable. It looks just like the pictures they’ve posted online. If I ever go back to Phuket, I’ll stay with them again! Again, I can’t say enough about the staff! My only recommendation to make the stay better would be to have a clothes drying rack in the room or outside to keep the swimming clothes dry. We made it work without this but it would have definitely been a plus!

This is my 4th time in the last 2 years staying at this upscale boutique resort. What is most amazing is that on near every level this resort can compete with the JW Marriott’s and other fine hotels. The difference here, and where the Grand Mercure distinguishes itself, is in-the-area-of customer service and making sure the customer experience is nothing less than exceptional. I had one issue with my room during my 18 day stay and the engineering staff immediately responded and rectified it within a few hours while I was out exploring. I will definitely return in 2017 for my 5th visit here and 6th trip to Thailand. I highly recommend booking a suite or a villa for an even more amazing vacation or holiday experience. About the resort – the rooms are spotless and elegantly furnished, the pool and fitness center are pristinely clean, the people who work here treat you like a member of the family, the geographic location is perfect to central Patong, the beach and shopping at Jungceylon and the night markets, all within a 5 to 10-minute walk. They also provide a complimentary shuttle to each of these locations many times per day. The lobby, the bar, the poolside bar and café are all handled perfectly and effortlessly by the highly competent staff and they will bend over backwards to make sure you are not only happy and satisfied, but that all your needs and desires are being met. Oh, and they also have a great on-site spa for you indulge and spoil yourself.

Strategically located near Patong beach, within walking distance to Bangla Night Market and many restaurants, massage shops within the hotel vicinity. The reception was the first point of contact upon arrival and it was really warm & welcoming. We stayed in the deluxe room with pool access. Room is not big but reasonably sized. Breakfast was really just ok only with same spread for the 3 days of our stay :(( I supposed the pool was not cleaned or upkeep on a daily basis as there were chewing gums being scattered all over the pool (probably left from the previous guests who stayed in the same room) and they were still around on they day we checked out. Toiletries, towels were not fully replenished and we have to call or run after the housekeeping to request for additional towel, toiletries. Room was not cleaned up on 2nd last day after our day trip back at around 5pm and housekeeping only came after we called. Overall, it is not too bad a hotel to be stayed in for its location.

Understandably Phuket is a tropical area and it is humid. Sometimes you want to take a hot shower after a long day of scuba diving snorkeling and swimming. The water was luke warm at best. Hospitality was rather great minus attitude of male who checked us in the first night. His name started with a “C”. For one of the rooms was placed in a double bed room despite booking 2 king size rooms.had he just told me we don’t don’t have 2 king size rooms together and one happens to be a double bed I wouldn’t have been as annoyed. Tell me what the customer what options are Available this way the customer can decide what they want to do rather than get to the room the have to go back downstairs to the front desk to complain. They gave the option to change rooms to another building or put a topper on the beds to make one bed. Other than the wrong bed / room mix up and no hot water. Overall enjoyed my stay and might return and recommend to friends. Area is good walking distance to mall. Several shops and food options in the area. You can book excursions right in the lobby. The 30$ Themed buffet is worth the price for one night just experience. Drinks are separate cost. If you rent a car parking is free. Free WiFi with room. Furthermore there were some dings to the furniture and walls such as the closet panel/drawers. Half shower curtain/glass is an adjustment.
