Nice building; lousy breakfast
The building is nice and clean. Our room was comfortable and the bathroom is quite modern. Our only disappointment was what the hotel called a breakfast. They serve it 8:30-10;30, but at 9:00 there was only some picked over stale bread to make for toast. They never restocked anything. Just a terrible last impression to make.

Not ready for prime time
Nice building but the hotel operation is not ready for prime time. A lot of standard details are missing. They are still learning the ropes and don't understand how to treat guests and provide for an easy and comfortable stay. Our room in the basement was huge, but it had a separate bathroom accessed via the common hallway, which was not disclosed in the listing. There were no bathrobes provided, so it was awkward to go back and forth. There was no temperature control for the room, so we piled blankets on top of the bed. The bathroom outlet didn't work, so we had to use the single plug by the bed, and there wasn't a single mirror in the room. The front desk staffer during the day was indifferent and not pleasant at all. He was the only person working there, and when he left for lunch he locked our luggage in the office and we had to sit around waiting for him to return. The decor consists of a beautiful old style mansion overrun by a tasteless combination of Chinese restaurant and corporate office decor. The "breakfast" was a few plates and bowls of things strewn about with no one in attendance to restock or clean up. It was definitely not up to par with the building or the price. I guess they are into the concept of spending as little as possible, instead of providing a nice experience and charging what it takes to pay for it. This hotel does not provide the romantic getaway that you might be hoping for when you select it. For business travelers it would be fine.

The Hotel was a large mansion The building was amazing But the room didn’t have a door on the bathroom The breakfast was t very good - just toast and coffee ( which is fine - but I’ve had much better And parking in a lot behind the building - and they charge 40 to park there

Expensive extra charges
I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels all over the world. This was the most frustrating experience ever. It’s a nice hotel in a nice area but we paid unexpected fees that cost as much as the original booking amount.
