Comfortable rooms, interesting location and sites
Family trip in Winter and the location seem to be within walking distance of many sites (such as Notre Dame and museums) and the walk to the train station felt like a short walk. There were many interesting shops in the neighborhood. The rooms were on the smaller side, but seemed nice (clean, comfortable and everything worked). The Hotel made an effort to understand our needs by emailing us to confirm how many beds we would need and responded quickly to our questions. We were worried about the noise level in the early evening, but after 9:30 or so it was pretty quiet. The hotel is located in an area with some of oldest building and in the gay neighborhood, so if that bothers you look elsewhere, but my family and I found everything to be interesting and felt comfortable walking around. I would recommend this hotel.

great location... little else
Location was perfect- literally 2 mins to the metro or restaurant... Hotel did not have internet or satellite TV which makes it tough to stay in touch with the world back home. safe in room did not work (may have been out of batteries). Construction next door is loud and starts early! In short, the only good thing I can say is great location.

Great location... Nothing else.
Paid 60 euros per day to upgrade to jr suite. Room was don't lit due to burned out light bulbs. Room was more of a lift than a suite with very step stairs to climb to get into bed (dangerous if you have to go to bathroom at night). Hotel may offer ditigal but only local French stations (it is an antenna not cable or satellite). Internet was down the entire stay which didn't seem to be a concern to the staff. No discount or free breakfast with our food for the inconvenience. The only thing good about the hotel is for location. The location is spectacular.

LOVED our 10 days, never wanted to leave.
Could not have been happier! We are independent, world travelers from S. Francisco My 1st trip to Paris - celebrating my 60th and our 2nd wedding anniv. We wanted s "romantic" but were on a budget. .On previous biz trips to Paris, my husband stayed at the Georges V (about $1500 night). Hotel was built in the 1600s, so do not expect modern. Amazing work needed to modernize a bldg like this, so there are quirks to them, a toilet on a raised platform to hide the plumbing, etc. We were a bit underwhelmed when taxi pulled up -- didn't seem like what we'd wanted but -- DO NOT BE FOOLED, REVIEWS ARE RIGHT! Our room was spotless, beautiful fabrics on the wall, big windows. Low bed threw us at 1st, but so comfy & we miss it! Stayed 10 days and never wanted to leave. CAVEAT: Le Marais is LIVELY with rests/bars open late -- which is why the location is great. Windows are double-paned but lots of noise at 1 a.m..I slept fine with earplugs; husband didn't use & slept fine. We never ate breakfast there, we loved walking to the end of the street for coffee and croissants. Little living-room like lobby with sofa, NYTimes, guidebooks, helpful reception if you need something, housekeeping was great. Metro 2 blocks away, can walk to SO much. (1 mi to Notre Dame, beautiful walk). Close to Picasso Museum, Place de la Vosges (we loved it so much there, we kept going just to hang out). Kind of want to keep Brettoniere a "secret" to ourselves!
