The Wellington Hotel, London
A Great Stay
I was a little concerned when I first checked in. It was World Cup time, and the pub was packed and loud. However, going upstairs to my room (just one floor up), I could not hear them at all. It was perfectly quiet and comfortable. It would have been nice to have A/C in July, but traveling solo it wasn't a major concern. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included, and it was spectacular! Lots of really good restaurants just down the street, close to Waterloo Station, and easily walkable to nearly everywhere I wanted to go. I would definitely choose it again!

Convenient and accommodating.
The room was small, but our overall experience was great! I looked up quite a few hotels for our honeymoon before deciding on The Wellington, and found that most London hotels have small rooms. No surprise there. But it was perfect for what my husband and I needed. The breakfast was good (you can choose a buffet of pastries, fruit, and cereal, and choose a hot breakfast from the kitchen. The WiFi was fast and reliable, which was helpful since my husband still had to do his college assignments on his laptop while we were there. We were conveniently located across the street from the Waterloo station and many food places for when we wanted to eat but didn’t want to travel far. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had an excellent experience.

Horrible staff and service
When we arrived, we were unacknowledged for a good 15 minutes before I tried to flag down someone. At first, she completely ignored me and I had to wait for an opportunity to get in front of her and block her for her to acknowledge me. When I asked if someone could check us in, she said it wasn't her job. When we were finally checked in, they were very rude, as if we were bothering them. The next morning for breakfast, we were treated poorly and rudely as if we didn't belong. I felt so uncomfortable, I couldn't wait to check out. We were charged an extra $20 and don't know why but I was so put off by this place I don't think it's worth looking into, as they will probably show more rudeness. I will never go back and never recommend this place to anyone I like. Ruined the whole trip for me.

Nice people but freezing room.
The lovely women working were all very nice and helpful. The big problem was that it was very cold in the room without any directions on how to adjust the heat. In the morning we were told how to make it possibly work but st 2:30 a.m. That information wasn't available.
