Samesun Vancouver review
Samesun Vancouver hostel was my very first Hostel experience and it was a great one! the bunk that I stayed in had a lot of privacy. All the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again!

Great location, but hard to sleep
It was very loud. We were right across the bathrooms which was convenient, but since there's cut out for a fan above the door all the noises and sometimes smells come through. The window side isn't much better, you can pretty clearly hear the outside. It sounded like a pretty loud and probably drunken dispute. Breakfast was kind of nice with great cut up fruit and jam. The bread and bagels seemed pretty good quality. The coffee and juice we did not like and we were wishing for some protein or healthier option.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location especially if you’re into partying. Night Clubs and bars are all around. Yaletown is a 5 min walk and Granville island is a bus ride, approx 10 min. Be careful (late night) you will find quite a few homeless people on the streets. Not unsafe, just be aware. Overall, a decent place to stay if you’re on a budget.

Great for the price
It’s great with the price. Clean, friendly staff. Bar scenery and places to eat is a big plus as there are many options. Room (wth exhaust fan only) is a little warm compared to outside where the air condition is on, but there’s a small fan on every bed so that solves the problem when sleeping.

First hostel experience
Had a 14hr layover and it was 20 min away on the sky train. $35 room for the night, nice bar downstairs, lots of friendly people staying there as well.

Samesun is fantastic! The dorm beds are little nooks with their own lights and fans, instead of oldschool bunks. The bar downstairs has a great beer selection (and you get a 2-for-1 drink voucher when you arrive). I will definitely stay here again.

Not much option for breakfast
It will be great if able to provide wide range of breakfast instead of just muffins and bread

Exactly as expected!
Samesun was great in that it was everything that it advertised, nothing more, nothing less. I just stayed for one night and enjoyed the simplicity and the ease to and from Vancouver airport. Great for lone travelers.

You NEED to stay here
Absolutely loved staying at Samesun! From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly, my room was clean, and the breakfast was awesome! I didn't have any noise problems in my room at all, but then I'm also the girl that slept through every single fire alarm in my dorm building, and my window did face a side street, so if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs. While there wasn't any AC the rooms were still very comfortable and I slept every night curled up in a blanket. They have little fans and lights attached to each bed so you don't disturb your roommates and I was very comfortable. The nightly activities at the Beaver Bar and daily excursions were great and the front staff always had tons of suggestions of places to go, things to do, where to eat, ect. I cannot recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back to Vancouver, just to stay here again!
