The Sakala Resort Bali - All Suites, Nusa Dua

The view of the beach was awful. The bed was hard.

We weren't as happy as we would have liked with our stay at The Sakala. The lobby and beach club areas were quite nice but other than that everything seemed outdated. While The Sakala might have been a 5-star hotel at one point, it is definitely not anymore. When I booked the room I was aware we'd have no view but I had no idea we would be in the basement. We had booked two nights here (one through another platform and one through hotels.com). The previous night we were put into a room that smelled like urine, the fridge didn't work nor did the safety deposit box. The room itself was fine but once these problems arose (especially the smell) it was just not what we paid for. We complained and nothing was done. Only the next day when we complained did we get moved, and subsequently upgraded, to the suite next door (still in the basement). The area was dead, there were no good restaurants around and the beach is completely unusable. You must eat in the hotel or nearby resort restaurants and a bus is available to take you to a beach further away but that's about it. We did book the half-board and the food at RotiChai next door is highly recommended.

The room was spacious and comfy and access to the pool was really enjoyable. The breakfast was not what we expected and the food selection was rather limited.

Spent the week here... definitely coming back. The workers are amazingly friendly, amazing and resourceful. Hotel is so underrated. Such a great price for 5 star treatment. Free Breakfast was included with my booking- not only was it delicious.. it also has lunch options ! I went to the Spa twice...Endang Murti is a miracle worker! I loved her! Fantastic Hotel with a beach and infinity pool! Let them know if there’s anything you don’t like or want changed. They are very flexible too! Also make sure you make good friends so you can get realistic rates on tour drivers :)
