Great stay!
Hanoi Pearl We stayed here for 2 nights. They let us leave our luggage 2 days prior to checking in when we went on a Sapa your, so that was nice of them. The staff is very professional and speak good English. We got a windowless room, which we knew ahead of time because they informed us that we would have to pay more for a room with windows. It was a decent size and clean. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were rock-hard. I guess we could have called to Reception to ask about that but didn't think to at the time. Breakfast buffet was Ok, nothing too unique from our perspective - but we have been through several hotels at this point. To someone arriving in Vietnam for the first time, the breakfast selection would be exciting!

Nice stay at Hanoi Pearl
It was a good choice, we can walk around easely, several shops, near the Hoam Kiem Lake. We got a very professional massage, relaxing, clean and nice spot. Breakfast had several choices, you can tried the vietnamisse or international, choices. The staff is very friendly and always attentive

Great hotel
Lovely, well managed hotel. Responsive to your every request. Cheerful and friendly staff, especially Chris and Betty. Hoyel location is excellent, on the edge of the Old Quarter and also a block or two to the lake. Very refreshing to walk along the lake at night. Be aware that traffic is cordoned off the street on weekends and while this is conducive to walking, and reduces sound, your car or taxi will drop you and your luggage off a block away from the hotel and you must make your way with your luggage. A possible solution would be to arrange hotel pickup at the airport on weekends so that the hotel porters meet you on the strret and carry your luggage that last block. I also did not understand the concept of an internal room window vs an external room window, as internal windows are not in US or Canadian hotels. Check the room photo carefully. I chose to upgrade to an external window "city view" for additional charge. Rooms were lovely, with fresh roses and fresh fruit in the room. Nice touches.

Very Good8.0
Cheap and convenient
This is a centrally located mid-range hotel. The rooms are clean but the bathroom was a little tired and it is impossible to shower without flooding the floor near the toilet (which then becomes a slip risk). Breakfast is provided and very Asian. Service is hit and miss. Some wait staff were brilliant and asked us if we wanted tea and coffee refills, some didn't.The hotel is clearly focused on service because everyone asks how your day is/was and wants to chat. They also ask where you are off to, and offer helpful suggestions, like whether you'd like to drink in their bar (which has a great view but is not a very nice space) instead of eating out. Eat out! While I get that they are trying to improve the service and the hotel business, this really gets annoying.
