Cheap and convenient
This is a centrally located mid-range hotel. The rooms are clean but the bathroom was a little tired and it is impossible to shower without flooding the floor near the toilet (which then becomes a slip risk). Breakfast is provided and very Asian. Service is hit and miss. Some wait staff were brilliant and asked us if we wanted tea and coffee refills, some didn't.The hotel is clearly focused on service because everyone asks how your day is/was and wants to chat. They also ask where you are off to, and offer helpful suggestions, like whether you'd like to drink in their bar (which has a great view but is not a very nice space) instead of eating out. Eat out! While I get that they are trying to improve the service and the hotel business, this really gets annoying.

nice old quarter hotel
great old quarter Ha Noi hotel. the rooms were nice and the staff very friendly., i would have to say the best thing about this hotel was the people that run it as they were so kind and i felt as i had made new friends. i was not pleased at the view, it only gave 30% (45 degrees) of the city lake due to a taller building being behind it, i thought from the hotel com listing that i was to have the city view, but they told me that the listing was in error and that i would have needed to get the executive view to get a balconied view of the old quarter from the front of the hotel. it was not that big of a deal because i was not in the room that much. also, though the extensive international type breakfast was included, espresso drinks were not and did not find that out until after it was served, again, not a big deal but would have been nice to know before.... so now you know... ..

Good hotel, good location, a few minor issues
This hotel is nice and it is very close to the lake and to the Old Quarter, making everything walkable. My room had great A/C (which stayed on even when I left and took my key). The breakfast buffet was decent but needed more variety of Western options. The bathroom was odd. It had a bathtub/shower combo. The bathtub was raised up for some reason, making it tricky and a bit dangerous when getting out of the shower because I had to step over and down and it was slippery. A few times I almost lost my balance. I don't know how a person who is elderly or has hip problems, etc. would handle this. Why not leave the tub and "ground level'? There is no advantage to raising it up like this. (I don't know if all rooms have this tub set up.). Also, I think the water is too soft as I could not ever completely get the shampoo out of my hair so for the entire week I felt like my hair was a bit greasy. There is a small hair dryer in the room but it is virtually useless - barely stayed on and I had to hold the button down. If you really need a hair dryer, bring your own. The staff here was the highlight. Very friendly and helpful with everything. I just think there are a few bugs here that should be worked out for maximum comfort, especially if someone is going to be here for any length of time.
