A long bus ride from Kyoto Station
Pros: The proprietors were lovely and super helpful. Went out of their way to answer questions. The area in NW Kyoto is a long (35-50 minute?) bus ride from Kyoto station, but once you are out there, there are several temples within walking distance. We visited Ninanji, Roanji, and Kinkakuji all within walking distance. We are big walkers so it might be far for some (1-2 kilos between?), but probably an easy cab ride. Good internet. Cons: There was a bit of a "hostel" feel to this hotel. I can't put a finger on it... the low ceilings, the plywood doors, the shared bathroom. Not sure. And, it is kind of far from Kyoto station. I speak Japanese but I can imagine it might be tricky if I hadn't.

Amazing Hosts!
I was looking for a quick, reasonable, no frills place to stay so I could explore Arashiyama when I found LeBlanc. The rooms aren't fancy but they're clean and comfortable, which was exactly what I needed. The best part about my stay? The host and hostess were completely warm, friendly and wonderful making me feel like home. If you're from the US, it was as close to a New England B&B as you could get! I'd highly recommend and will be back on future business trips when I have a large block of time off. ™

깨끗하고 예쁜 시골마을에 친절한 주인
이곳 숙소가 있는 마을이 시골마을로 너무 조용하고 좋았음. 교토의 명승지도 좋았지만 개인적으로는 이 시골마을이 너무 좋았음. 그리고 일본인 주인분들이 너무 친절했고 한국인을 반겼고 숙소도 아주 깨끗하였으며 진심을 다해 열심히 게스트하우스를 예쁘게 운영하고 계신 것 같았음

Rustig pension in een buitenwijk
Dit was de beste overnachtingsplek van onze vakantie (van zes verschillende) vanwege de vriendelijke en persoonlijke benadering van het echtpaar dat het runt. Zij waren zeer behulpzaam en betrokken. Het ontbijt was ook heerlijk.
