We picked this great little motor lodge for it’s iconic name and handy location to the Grampians in the village of Hall’s Gap. Steven greeted and checked us in with his very friendly manner, naming some local options for food and informing us about the wild neighbours, a court of kangaroos that lived in the pasture right outside our room. Our perfect view looked onto several acres of field which was grazed by about 40 roos and a small herd of deer. It was flanked on two sides by granite hills of the Grampians. Several cockatoos visited and musk lorikeets dined in the flowers of the lodge’s shrubs. The room was clean and well maintained, with a small fridge and good wi-fi. Patio doors opened onto a little sitting area with a table and chairs for spectacular watching of the kangaroo families. It was just a few minutes stroll to the main street for coffee shops, dining and grocery store supplies. Thanks Steven for a perfect stay!

Kookaburras to start your day.
It was a great Motel and the wildlife was such an added bonus. It was fantastic to hear the Kookaburras so early in the morning and such a pleasant way to drift awake. There were lots of kangaroos very close to the glass doors that opened to face the rear paddock. It was also very nice to be able to feed the cockatoos as well. Overall it was a very restful weekend and everyone had a real feeling of being with nature.

Get the mountain view
Lovely motel run by a lovely and chatty couple. Great location to walk for dinner/shopping. They'll tell you where to go. Easy parking right outside your room. Comfortable, sizeable room with good heating (also has A/C). The bathroom is dated, but that shouldn't matter since it's functional. Get the mountain view room as you're likely to have wallabies in the field outside (plus the spacious outback with mountain backdrop). There is a small patio with chairs to enjoy your morning coffee with a view. They also offer breakfast as an add-on, haven't tried it, but I'm sure it would have been good. Definitely recommend it!

Very Good 8.0
Perfectly fine for a quick overnight stop
In a word, inoffensive. Exactly what you would expect for the price you pay. Swift and easy check in for what was a very last minute booking. The chap was very helpful in recommending places to eat and drink. The room itself whilst not the newest was perfectly fine and I had a decent nights sleep. Loads of cockatoos and kangaroos at the back door made for a nice start to the morning as did the view to the mountains at the rear.

Quiet Comfort in the Grampians.
This is a motel, not a luxury hotel, but we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying to anyone on holiday in the Grampians. The motel is on a quiet side road, but centrally located, so it's easy to dine or shop. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and looked out on a field of kangaroos and cockatoos! I would stay here again if I get back to hike the Grampians again.
