We were disappointed and had to pay out of pocket to find solutions to many location and logistic problems at the resort, mostly due to location and lack of consideration for guests. The suites are located beyond a reasonable walking distance to: the main reception, the "nearby" beach and Playa del Carmen. There was no offered way to get around the resort, such as a golf cart or even a bike. We had to ask the gate security people, whom were very friendly, but spoke no english, to get us taxi's everywhere. Eventually we were forced to hire a car locally to get around more freely. The cleaners did minimum effort, we were left to clean our own dishes and as they didn't appear everyday, we often ran out of soap and shampoo etc. There wasn't dishwasher soap offered to allow us to clean our own things. It was down to us to supply our own. The swimming pool was nice but rather quiet and lonely. Most guests in the complex, I figure are long lease tenants and seemed to be away, or driving themselves to the beach, it never felt like a family resort. The main reception, is completely at the other end of the where you stay and required a taxi just to get there. The staff mostly didn't speak english but were friendly enough, especially the security guards. However, of course there was no welcome package or advice on local things to do, it felt very isolated and tailored toward tenants rather than holiday guest. We loved Playa del Carmen, and had a great holiday but no thanks to resort.
