Norfolk Hotel, St. Helier
Unpretentious, clean and friendly
Interesting. We felt like we had entered a 70s timewarp - the decor and general ambience. The walls must be paper thin, we could hear conversations in the corridor and the toilet flushing in the next room. There is no air-con, and leaving windows open meant external noise, fortunately it was quiet after 11.30. But the bed was comfortable and the whole place was very clean. The staff were friendly and obliging. Breakfast was served at the table, but promptly. Bacon and eggs good, sausages verging on disgusting. Continental breakfast was a croissant, yoghurt, slice of prepack ham and cheese. The hotel is about 5-6 minutes walk from the main street, a kilometre from the bus station. There are several restaurants close by - the best we tried was the Italian in the pedestrianised part of La Colomberie.

Top Notch Service- above expectations!
Very cute hotel. Stayed with my 9 year old daughter. The place seems to really cater to the older crowd, however the staff made my daughter and I feel very welcome. They always had a treat for her and joked around a bit. They were accommodating in every way. We even picked up a pizza from down the road and planned to eat in our room, but one of the staff went into the closed cafe and got us plates and cutlery and set us up outside on the patio- it was very thoughtful. We loved the pool, but question whether it was really heated or not- still a bit chilly. The included breakfast was wonderful! Overall I enjoyed the stay at this quaint family run establishment compared to a big chain hotel.

Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Perfect location for saint heiler and free parking round the back. Only downside was the food -very poor evening meal and breakfast was with cheap ingredients but breakfast better than dinner.

Clean rooms with a great breakfast.
The room was very basic, but clean. My partner was complaining as the pillows were like rocks, but I didn't have an issue with that. The small things all count and when there was no shower gel in the room, just a cheap tiny piece of hand soap, it was disappointing. The hairdryer did not work. The room was extremely noisy at night apparently a rugby team were in the hotel, so we all had to suffer the noise. There was a lot of road noise as well, so ensure you have a room away from the road. We were on a B&B basis and the breakfast was wonderful, the whole operation of breakfast was like a well oiled machine, the staff were super efficient and friendly. However, the location for St Helier and the surrounding area was perfect, You get what you pay for.............
