Great - if you are traveling light
Expectations were that a room in this quaint little district of Brighton would be very small. Really not enough room to open two suitcases. We would have given a star lower rating on the facility, but Patrick and the staff were friendly, helpful and above average in every way - excellent full breakfast in the morning. The annoyances did add up, but probably because we reserved late and got the last room on top floor, I think seven series of seven stairs. Shared bathroom is OK, but with six rooms over two floors? Sink in the bedrooms too tine to put a face over to brush teeth. But the breakers is that the lights are on a short timer, things go dark too often (after the loo or if you are following someone else up stairs and they pressed the button 60 seconds ago. I'd say safety hazard, should be on a motion sensor. Services totally balanced out the annoyances.. will send our petite friends.

Great bank holiday stay.
Patrick and his team were very nice and couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the largest of rooms but it was made smaller by the huuuuge bed we had, which was great. Very clean thoughout and the breakfast was pretty good too. Would definitely recommend The Kelvin, great value for money, lovely people. Nice cosy place and great location.

Absolutely great stay - so friendly and welcoming!
Good check-in, Patrick very friendly and welcoming. Room very suitable for us both. Great central location for bars & pier. Good nights sleep. Shower works well with lots of hot water! Breakfast was without fault; tasty, plenty of it and the hot coffee was flowing - nothing was too much trouble. Looks like a real family business. A couple of minor improvements for our stay was the TV didn't work but we didn't even try it until we came home late on Saturday night after a few pints anyway (so it wasn't an issue for us) but we mentioned it to Patrick when checking out on Sunday and he said his maintanance guy will fix it also the wifi signal didn't reach our room (top floor), again no issue for us as we have lots of data to use up. Thank you for a pleasant weekend! (Simon and Torsten from London).
