The Three Horseshoes, Alton
Lovely pub with a bed & breakfast
Booked this the night before as needed a place to stay near to Goodwood Festival of Speed due to having to be there early in the morning. Phoned the pub and they said please use which I did, when I arrived the welcome was very friendly and the landlord showed me up to my room. I was shown the en-suite, how to operate the tv, the WiFi code and where my complementary breakfast was. The breakfast consisted of a yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal, a carton of fresh milk, fruit juice in the fridge and a cafetière with a jar of fresh coffee plus instant coffee and tea. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the room could mean I could leave early, there was a table and a chair so I could eat my breakfast. I went down and my evening meal, a homemade chicken and mushroom pie with seasonal vegetables and was probably the best pie that I have had in a long time and was complemented by the real ale on tap. I will be back when I am in the area again.

Very Good8.0
Nice people, shame about the extras.
Despite not being able to check in till quite late in the day the room wasn't completely ready. However, the staff were very friendly and I was treated like a visiting member of the family. The room was small but well decorated, clean and adequate for a short stay. Unfortunately...the toilet seat was loose, the shower cubicle was uncomfortably small (particularly for someone who is slightly bigger than average), the wifi was really poor, because this pub is situated on a main road there seemed to be quite a lot of traffic noise through the night and the curtains were not blackout and did not keep out the light of the pub sign (bring a blindfold!).
