Ryokan Kyo-no-yado Kagihei, Kyoto
Exceptional
Wonderful & convenient stay.
Our stay at Kagihei was wonderful. The ryokan owners are sweet people; they're very warm and helpful. The ryokan is located in a super central and convenient place, close to Nishiki Market. Everything from the breakfast to the onsen (Japanese bath) to the room was perfect – very enjoyable and comfortable. It's a very nice Kyoto experience.

Above and beyond amazing! :-)
I am recommending this ryokan to all friends and family. The location is amazing- in the heart of everything! And this location has a lot of heart. The ryokan innkeeper made me feel so at home and was so kind and helpful. I ate out for dinner and had to leave early for an event. They were so kind as to bring me a plate of breakfast fruits and yogurt so I would not leave on an empty stomach-Without any asking. I know it's included in the price, but most places if you do not cater to their time frames, then there is no food for you- but they went so above and beyond! Arigato Gozaimasu my new friends-I'll be staying with you again. :-)

Location and service unbeatable!
This was perfect! Everything here was great. The location couldn't be beat. It's 2 steps from Nishiki market, 400m from Shinjo Station, and less than 1km from Ponto-cho. The onsen is a little small, but clean and relaxing. The rooms were clean, and roomy. Breakfast there was TERRIFIC. High quality. Service was top notch. Keep in mind there's no beds, you're sleeping on Japanese futons, which was perfectly fine with us, but may be a little rough on some people that like soft beds. Yukata was provided, and was really comfortable. There was only 2 real issue we had was with the 11pm curfew, but it's not too bad. The only day we had an issue with it was when we had dinner in Osaka, so that's more our fault than anything. Please understand that the 11pm curfew is because the place is the owner's house and she wishes to go to sleep at a reasonable time. The other is that WiFi is the Kyoto Free WiFi and only works in the lobby. Because I had work to do, I would have liked a secured WiFi available in the rooms, but minor inconvenience, all considering. Overall, loved it!

Great piace to experience a Japanese ryokan hospitality. Worth for a couple of days to enjoy the breakfast treatment and the common bath area. The curfew at 11 pm it is a bit of a limitation but the area offers a lot in the vicinities.
