Very unorganized and noisy
Hotels.com didn't send them confirmation email therefore I waited an hour to be check in. The place was cold and the blankets was very thin. I had to wear my coat when sleeping. It is right in front of subway therefore you'll hear train passing by every few minutes and people snoring

Third floor was a problem, since I had a bad leg. Also, staff varied in attitude from one to the next. Room was very small, but clean and located well away from the El.

Good Price, Convenient Location
Very basic, but the price was right, the room and bathrooms clean, the common areas very pleasant, and the staff helpful. Conveniently located right near the subway, with easy access from Grand Central Station. There was also a wonderful Korean restaurant, Dotory, a couple doors down, where I enjoyed delicious meals.

great for sleeping
for the price it is hard to complain be advised that the rooms are like "cubicles" the walls do not do all the way to the ceiling we had a two person bunk bed room you can hear everyones "activity" take ear plugs this is not a negative statement just a tip take a padlock too there are steel lockers mounted to the walls if a chair is important take a little folding stool or a hard side suitcase that can be used as a stool the staff are all super friendly and helpful there is a great community room with plenty of space and a big kitchen it was definitely an experience!!

This is a hospital not a hotel so don't expect to have Hotel like quality. The staff did an excellent job of keeping the place clean. But when you have around a hundred people staying in the hostel. Things will get messy especially when you're sharing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. The hostel gets so noisy the other people that are staying there have no courtesy for other people especially at 1 o'clock in the morning when you're trying to sleep and they're slamming doors or talking at the top of their lungs. I maybe slept 2 hours both nights that I stayed here. The beds are also quite uncomfortable and they squek everytime I moved.I don't know if your plugs would have helped but I think that they should definitely be offered and also you probably want to sleep mask because the ceilings don't go all the way up to the ceiling there's like a gap to allow air to circulate into the room because there's no fans and the air conditioning is just like in the hallways it's not in the room itself. It gets quite muggy and humid at least during the summer time when I stayed there. The place is cheap and it's a roof over my head that's the only good thing and it's close to the subway and also to the bus routes and the staff is very nice and helping you find where you need to go to provide free maps.
