Hotel Villa Serena, Castellammare di Stabia
The rooms were clean, though beds were scraped and old and walls needed a coat of paint. Hallway lights didn't work! The neighborhood was interesting; my wife and I strolled up a nearby narrow street to grocery store at 9:30pm--like an alley--walled by apartments on each side. The screaming was incredible. As we glanced into some 1st floor windows, we realized every family in the neighborhood was having supper with very animated discussions going on in each apartment. It was one of those unexpected, interesting things to hear and see. Management was helpful. Woke up to a clear view of Vesuvius.
