It was my first stay at a hostel and I was nervous as I was staying in a co-ed room as a solo female traveller, but I felt safe the whole time. The bed was relatively comfortable and clean, and there is easy access to restrooms/showers. Some minor things were out of order like the hair dryer, but nothing concerning or inconvenient. The staff/owners were super friendly and helpful, and the area was perfectly convenient- if you plan on doing excursions with shuttle pick-up, the nearest bus stop to the hostel is only a 3 minute walk away (Bus Stop 8). As a bonus, it's next to Hallgrímskirkja as well as lots of dining/shopping options. I only paid about 112 pounds for 4 nights. Overall great value, I'd definitely stay again!

4 bunk beds, 8 female room. NO storage in the room. Each bunk bed had on drawer that could Not be locked. Housekeeping opens 5 to 6 rooms or more at a time for AM housekeeping then leave the area for 15 plus minutes at a time. Everybody's items are unsecured. Room was extremely HOT. Two of the beds were directly next to the heaters, surprised the person sleeping there did not get burned! Lack of comfortable community area. Dining area with couch at the dining table. Limited access to electrical outlets. They just threw 4 bunk beds in a room and called it good. Each bed needs access to USB ports, individual lights. Only one light in the room...either it is on in everybody's face or off and you can not see anything. Needs to be modernized. Due to heat, no way to unpack or secure belonging in room and then lack of bed related lighting, usb ports, plug ins I would not return.

Our stay was very pleasant at the hotel. The room was very basic but clean and comfortable. The shower had some mildew which was tolerable. The breakfast was fantastic. It was definitely worth the value for the area.
