Great place to stay for Kyoto University visitors
I was looking for somewhere to stay close to Kyoto University for a business trip. The Guesthouse Hyakumanben Cross was perfect! It's small, comfy, very neat and clean, and just a short nice walk from the campus. The local streets have many small restaurants and coffee shops. It is also a convenient short walk to bus stops to the main train station, and the Keihan train line (Demachiyanagi stop).

A place to sleep.
My boyfriend and I stayed in a private room with two twin beds. Our room was on the same floor as another private room, with which we shared a bathroom, shower room and kitchen. The place is cozy and clean with very nice and helpful staff who spoke some English. Not the ideal place for a couple to stay, but conveniently located in Kyoto without breaking the bank. Enjoyed the complimentary tea and coffee in the morning before visiting all the local temples.

Comfortable bedding brought me good sleep at very cold snowing night. Public and room area is clean and tidy and free offer towel for taking bath. Location is convenient as bus stop is nearby. Staff is friendly especially the old lady. I will consider to stay again at this warm & convenient guesthouse next time I go to Kyoto.

-Shower time and length not limited, as long as keeping quiet at night. -Check out on time: no public toilets to borrow after check out time. -Have massaging machine for the feet in common area. -Enough quietness and privacy. -Has slippers only for use in toilet. -Waiting chairs for the shower room (although it is cold to wait there... prefer waiting in the room) -Book shelf in common area is quite cute. -Mirror is too far to do make up. -> need to bring your own mirror, or else cannot see well.
