Most enjoyable stay
We really enjoyed our night stay at the George Borrow Hotel. It is located about 12 miles East of the lovely town of Aberystwyth. It is in a somewhat isolated location but adjoins the main road running through the hamlet of Ponterwyd. It is located amongst stunning mountain scenery and would suit anyone looking to experience nature at its best; amazing walking areas around. It is family owned and offers a cosy atmosphere, with a bar, lounge and dining room on the ground floor. The bedrooms are of a good size with en-suite facilities. Those facing the rear have a wonderful view of the mountains. A good range of British pub/restaurant food including home-cooked-style burgers, pies, gammon, battered fish etc of ample portions. Super cooked breakfasts served. Decent parking space available. Extremely friendly hosts. Parts of the building date back to the 16th century, so don't expect luxury accommodation, but the rooms and bedding were very clean.
