Would not honor Hotels.com reservation
We arrived after dark, 2 women traveling alone in Agra. Upon arrival, we were told that they do not affiliate with Hotels.com, and they did not have our reservation (the clerk did have my name, so there was something shady going on there). They also claimed they did not have any open rooms they could give us. Eventually, the manager called another hotel to see if they could get us in. We were half-way there, when the manager of Hotel Metro called us and said to come back. We assumed there had been a problem at the other hotel, but instead he found a room he could give us - if we would pay the rack rate, in addition to the full price we already paid. We didn't feel as if we had any other options - it was nearly 11pm by this time - so took the room. The bed was too small for 2 people, the shower had no hot water, everything was dingy. We ordered food in the room, which was brought in several different deliveries. One of which was a man that showed up at our door after we had finished eating, wanting to give us dinner knives. Hotel staff kept coming to our room, with one thing after another, until well after midnight. It was extremely uncomfortable, as they were all men, and none of them had any reason to bother us. One even opened the door (we hadn't realized the lock was not quite latched) when we ignored his knock. Overall, one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in, and it should be removed from this site, as they refuse to honor reservations made through here.
