About Hotel Old Quarter, Amsterdam

Friendly budget hotel with late bar, in old Amsterdam

Near Centraal Station

Hotel Old Quarter places you within the old city of Amsterdam, toward the northern end of venerable Warmoestraat street, which dates back to the 13th century. It's a 7-minute walk north to Amsterdam Centraal Station, where you can catch trams and the metro.

Old and New Church

The old church, or Oude Kerk, is Amsterdam's oldest building and faces a large square that's a hive of vibrant activity. De Nieuwe Kerk, on the other hand, is a former church that's now an exhibition space with fascinating displays of artifacts from cultures all over the world.

Live jazz each week

The hotel bar, which is open late for guests, hosts a popular weekly jazz session where local musicians take the stage. The friendly, multilingual staff will be glad to give you directions around Amsterdam, and can also help you rent a bicycle.

What a dump!
Oh my God, what a piece of crap. The check-in girl was pretty rude, and they made a point of giving us the Wi-Fi password which was completely bogus and never worked. Then they give us the keys to a room which was at the top of four flights of the steepest narrowest stairs I’ve ever seen pretty much anywhere much less in a hotel. If I had baggage with me it would have been impossible to get it to the room for anyone other than a triathlete! The room was absolutely claustrophobic, small even by European standards. The bathroom was down one flight of the same steep narrow stairs, and the light did not work. The walls were paperthin and we could not sleep due to people in all the rooms up late partying. Literally the only good thing about this place was its location. I cannot believe this place got an average of 3.5 stars, I would give it a zero every day of the week. Please do not stay here.

Great stay overall
Great stay overall. Staff was efficient, friendly, and helpful. Room was exactly what we were looking for, very clean and comfortable. The location was great. Wifi was high speed. We did not have any complaints. The only negative was that it wasn't the quietest hotel as we could hear other travelers opening/closing doors, going up/down stairs, but this wasn't a major problem for us. We would recommend staying here for the service, location, and price
