The hotel is new and very pleasant, the roof top pool is really nice.

Nice but bland property; good service
The hotel gives off sort of a beige vibe-kind of bland. Little or no decoration. Room occupied was of a very good size. Some good restaurants in the area. Breakfast was large/varied, one of the property's best features. It's a 20-30 minute bus ride to the very interesting center of Montevideo and I enjoyed walking the neighborhood the property sits in, but it was less than scintillating. Very helpful if completely harried staff-this place is in the weeds all of the time-literally one giant party checking in after another. They were incredibly nice for how overworked they are. They are able to deal with mobs of people very well like the 400 I was part of going to Antarctica. The liaison between the expedition company and the hotel went off without a hitch.

This hotel has been renewd recently, but under the new tiles lies a very old biulding. The rooms smell like old dirty plumbing. I received DIRTY towells one day. I am not a picky person, but the hotel staff were of absolutetly no help at all. The check-in procedure lasted 40 minutes once they found my reservation. finally, very important; TWO SINGLE BEDS SHOVED TOGETHER DOES NOT COUNT AS A KING SIZE BED. There are greater hotels in the same area that are 5-10% expensier but really worth it.

Decent, unremarkable chain hotel
Mid-range professional chain hotel of no particular distinction. Rooms are modern and clean, with good views on the west side. Beds had sheets (I'd been told sometimes they were lacking) but no bed pads, so after a night's sleep the sheets looked tufted. TV had worst/least selection of channels of any I had in Uruguay. Breakfast buffet was rather dull and unvarying. The hotel's bar & restaurant for lunch & dinner is leased to an outside firm, and is closed on Mondays. Rather bizarre for a hotel to have no bar or restaurant on any given night. There's a rooftop "infinity" pool on the 12th floor, which provides spectacular views of the city and beyond. But cold temps keep all but the most intrepid out. Most of the roof deck was used for viewing sunsets, which begs the question why isn't it put to better use as a bar/cafe--which would surely be more popular and lucrative. Bikes are available for rent, but walks to the beach were much further than I expected. And the neighborhood--as in much of So.America--has sidewalks in disrepair, making excursions at night especially treacherous.

Noisy and my reservation was king size bed and they gave me only a two beds room. The outside noise is terrible... all night
