Great location, great space
This is not a hotel. It is an apartment building. Upon arrival, I was supposed to call Silvia so someone would be there to let us in. I had somebody call her from a shop next door and there was somebody there within three or four minutes to let us in. We stayed in apartment D. It was fine for us, but be aware if you are tall that this is an attic apartment with sloped ceilings on the sides. There was a small vestibule inside the front door and a living room with two couches. I believe they both pulled out, but we never did. Then there is a full kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, toaster, oven and stovetop along with dishes. There is a grocery store very close by and we made breakfast every morning. There was an iron and ironing board, small washing machine, deck with clothesline. The bedroom had some dressers and closet space and a large bed. The air conditioner worked really well. At one point in our stay, the shower backed up. I emailed Silvia and somebody came while we were out and not only fixed it, but straightened up the place and left more toilet paper and shampoo. The hotel is in a primo shopping area and a five minute walk to both the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. It is a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum, the Capuchin Crypt, and about 25 minutes to the Borghese Gallery. The only downside was a slight smell of cigarette smoke in the apartment and a septic sort of smell inside the front door of the building.

Could be an awesome unit.
If you into high end shopping great. If your also into a room that needs updating and personal attention this is the room for you. I hate seeing a grand opportunity missed by Gambero Guesthouse. They have a snail that could be a butterfly. It needs someone with a small amount of cash and taste to do some updating. Also, cleaned thoroughly. Wake up Gambero Guesthouse and make your unit a butterfly.

Nice Place in a Great Location
The apartment (We stayed in D) is very nice and the location is great for all the reasons you go to Rome. Very centrally located to all the sites and shopping. Dining is a bit sparse around the apartment. Couple of other items to note about the apartment: the ceiling gets very low on one side so we bumped our heads quite a few times and the shower didn't work that well but I would still stay here again

Great Family Base Camp
This is not a four star hotel by any means. What it is is an apartment right in the heart of Rome just a few minutes from Spanish Steps and the Trevia Fountain. There is a taxi stand and major bus stop just a block away. I stayed here with my family (mom, dad, and 4 kids from 17 - 9 years old). It was perfect for us. Silvia met us at the apartment and got us oriented. The apartment we were in, G, is on the top floor and has two levels. It has three different balconies. The whole family loved it and it was a perfect base of operations for our 4 days in Rome.

Apartment stay.
Excellent location. Apartment is comfortable for two or a couple. There is only one bed, plus a sofa bed. Quiet and convenient. Walking distance to every where, Spanish Steps.
