Very Very Disappointed
I was very excited about staying in this Villa, but was very disappointed upon arrival. The people who run the place are great but the Villa itself is old and is in desperate need of fixing up. Our room was on the outside off the very busy main road into Monaco. I had 2 use 2 different keys and 2 different doors to get into my room, very inconvienent. And to access the courthyard, I had to walk along the busy street and enter a code into the main entrance to open the door. The bathroom and shower were super small, the bed was not comfortable and the bedding old and mismatched. This is my third visit to Europe and this was my 7th hotel on this trip and it was the one I disliked the most. There is no housekeeping here during your stay so you have to make your own bed, and you have to pay a $50 cleaning fee. There is a kitchen, however, there is no market nearby, and there is really nothing in walking distance. You have to take quite a hike to get to anything from this Villa and forget about trying to get a taxi.

Cottage - not a hotel
While this place is economical and close to Monaco, it is not at all a hotel. It's akin to a cottage. If expecting a rustic cottage, you won't be disappointed. As a cottage I'd rate it 4/5, but it's far from a hotel. The location is on the side of a very busy street, the advertised wifi was not existent, the cleanliness of the unit was questionable and gaining access to the property was challenging. Accessibility doesn't exist. There are a lot of stairs to navigate. Definitely not suitable for anyone with issues with stairs. Do not bring heavy luggage.

Nice place and impressive view
Outlook amazing and locality to Monaco impressive. Would recommend providing clearer instructions as there are two number 44s which created confusion and distress at first. Once sorted tho the hotel was lovely, views really nice and facilities good. I would stay again. Just watch out for the room cleaning fee which is missable on the hotels . Com site

Good Basic Rustic Villa, good views of Med
Room and Villa very basic, but if you're into French rustic, terracotta clad, quaint Villas, this may be a good place for you. Great Views over the lower tree line to the Med Sea. Good internet/Wifi connection, once you've received code. Very friendly Staff/owners, sometimes hard to locate though, although they do leave a phone number to call if you need them. It was probably our UK phones that weren't connecting properly, so hard for us to contact them. Overall, not a bad stay at all. Very very good access to Monaco central if you have car.

Good by Monaco standards.
Summary: * price is good by Monaco standards * manager is very helpful and friendly * basic but nice apartments * great views * there is a 50euro cleaning fee * nice communal gardens and BBQ area * it is a fair walk, but being closer to Monaco will cost a lot more! NOTES: Villa Azur is located on a steep hill on the edge of Monaco, so you need to walk for approximately 20 minutes before you enter the main centre of Monaco. It is not really a hotel as the rooms are more like apartments with small kitchens and guests normally stay for longer periods of time therefore the owners charge a cleaning fee of 50euro. The hotels in Monaco are very expensive, therefore I would say Villa Azur strikes a fair balance when you consider how close to Monaco you will situated.
