Fantastic, modern and clean cottage
Fantastic cottage. Very close to Thirsk train station (about 3 mins walk), within walking distance to Thirsk racecourse (about 20 mins walk) which is why we stayed here. Brilliant choice.

Just What We Wanted
The Poplars is located just outside Thirsk, a pretty market town that features the James Herriot visitor centre and offers several good 'eateries'. It is also close to Ripon and a relatively short drive away from Fountains Abbey. We were welcomed by Amanda who showed us to our spacious and comfortable room which was on the ground floor and had direct access to the small car park. As we unpacked the car, we were also greeted by Bailey, the house Weimarama - yes this is a dog-friendly establishment. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and so large we really didn't need to bother with lunch! This B&B was everything we'd hoped for and we wouldn't hesitate to book again if we were ever staying in the area.
