Local motel, but nicer than average.
To be clear, if you are looking for a chain hotel/motel experience, this isn't for you. This is one of those small family-owned motels you see on the side of the highway that you would probably never really consider. That being said, if you are trying to save money and don't need a lot of amenities, this motel is a solid choice. I was (pleasantly) surprised to get a text the morning I left for the hotel, asking for my expected arrival time. When I got there, there wasn't a traditional office, as one of the employees (possibly owners) came from the pool house and gave me my key. (An actual key, not a key card. I haven't seen that in a long, long time.) The room was small, but I was by myself, so that was okay. (Fridge, but no microwave, so no bringing home leftovers.) The bathroom was remodeled and had modern fixtures. You're next to the highway, so napping in the afternoon was a challenge. However, that bed was really comfortable. Best nights of sleep I'd had outside of my own bed. The location is good, being one mile off of Bathhouse Row. You could walk there if you really wanted. As for cons, they advertise a breakfast, but it is really just juice, coffee, and some breakfast snacks. If breakfast is important to you, plan to go elsewhere. And there is wi-fi, but it is just "adequate." It took a few tries to connect. When you are there, sending emails and basic web functions are fine, but be patient if you are watching a video.

    Good bargain, friendly hosts
The two youngish guys who run this lodging are terrific. You'll learn (if you want to) about the history of Hot Springs, what to see, etc. It's a converted old-style motel, modernized with clean (but small) rooms, interesting art, and a pool. The location is a bit far from downtown (over a mile), but it's walkable. Breakfast (free) is coffee, juice, fruit, and nutri-bars. Wi-fi is available. For the price, Gold-Inn is an excellent bargain.

Room was small, but comfortable. No room in bathroom for toiletries. The place was very clean and has been renovated.

We came in late for a friend’s wedding, drove nine hours and were close to midnight getting into hot springs. Justin and Baker arranges for us to be able to access our room that night regardless of when we arrived so we wouldn’t have to rush. They also took an iron and ironing board to the room in advance so I could get up the next morning and go to the wedding venue as quickly as possible. Interior of the room was beautiful, very well decorated, and Justin and Baker were as nice as could possibly be. I’m not sure if we will ever return to Hot Springs, but if we do I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thanks guys!
