Aloft Cleveland Downtown, Cleveland
Guest check in not the friendliest ALoft we’ve ever been to. The food and drink options available for purchase in the mini market were very few. Our room had only a towels, the coffee area wasn’t stocked, just an overal disappointment. I’m glad this wasn’t our first experience at an ALoft / SPG property.

Aloft Experience
The hotel was nice and the amenities were excellent. There were a number of areas in the hallway and room that were in need of repair or replacement. Overall, it’s a solid place to stay on a business trip.

OK, But Certainly Not Great.
Made my reservation online after staying at a few other Aloft hotels. My experiences were always great, I was expecting the same here. However, I almost cancelled our stay after reading several Yelp reviews and some on this site. While I can’t say it was horrible, it wasn’t great either. I was confused by several reviews that said this Aloft was “dated”, as I really didn’t think Aloft hotels were old enough to be considered dated. But- after checking in- I understood it. Worn carpet in rooms and halls, mattress on our bed had clearly been there a while, etc. When we checked in, I was asked if we wanted a room with a view (of the flats), and I said yes and asked for a room on a high floor. When we got to the room, we found we were given a room that stared straight into the Ernst and Young office building on the other side. We checked in around 4:30, and several service carts were piled outside the elevator doors and into the hallway until later in the evening- was a little annoying to have to walk thru and around them anytime we needed to go anywhere. Staff wasn’t rude, but wasn’t overly friendly either. The main reason we stayed there was the location- it was right in the middle of everything we were doing. One tip if you decide to stay here- skip the expensive valet and just self park... the garage is just around the corner and easily accessible to the hotel via elevator. Overall, it wasn’t anything great and I’d probably check out other nicer downtown options instead.

Motorcycles Revving all night and Dirty carpet
Two nights at the Aloft in the Flats. Night one (wed) was ok, the AC rattled all night, carpet was filthy in the guest rooms and hallways. Rooms are not as clean as I would expect, it's all in the details and the floors and crevices could use a LOT of work! I moved rooms. When I moved rooms, the front desk agent said.. oh yea you were supposed to get free breakfast this morning. Did you get your vouchers? (which I did not and was not aware, so she was offering me something that had passed) Night two (thur), LOTS of Motorcycles REVVING thru the Flats till late at night. Currently it's after 11pm and more and more motorcycles keep coming by. It's loud and distracting. I called the front desk to ask if this is normal and he said, "yea, on the weekends we have lots of motorcycles in this area." I mentioned that it's Thursday night at 11pm, he confirmed he felt that Thursday night is a weekend night and that was normal.

The New Cleveland
This is in a really neat area in the east flats right on the river, the front of the hotel offers great views of the river, a really neat and contemporary hotel. This is the new Cleveland.
