Not Sarovar quality
Room was extremely small. Not enough attention to detail in room cleanliness and maintenance as you would expect at one of Sarovar's finer properties. One example, the door-sized external window in the shower would not close, so easy to fall out of the shower onto the balcony. Other example, room could have used a bit of a mopping so that I would not see previous guests' footprints on the tile. Front desk staff is totally clueless. Checked in at 7pm and only one person at front desk and 3 people checking in. Rather than checking in 1 at a time, she was literally processing all 3 check-ins simultaneously and she was totally flustered and confused. Took me about half hour to get my room key. Food and service in restaurant was good for breakfast. Only problem was that on both days they charged me for breakfast and I needed to pull out my hotel voucher to prove that breakfast was included. I have stayed in MANY hotels in Mumbai. This is certainly one I would not go back to. Really not up to the mark for Western standards. They say it is 4-stars, but I would be more inclined to give it 2.5-stars. Their nearby Sarovar Grand Hometel hotel is far worse. If you are going to stay at a Sarovar Hotel in the Goregaon area of Mumbai, go across the street to the Grand Sarovar Hotel. (Or an even better option in Goregaon is the Westin Garden City if you don't mind spending the extra bucks.)

My favorite hotel in Mumbai
Everyone was super friendly at this hotel. The staff was professional, and went above- and- beyond to give excellent customer service. Every small issue that I might have was solved immediately. The bed was very comfy, with many big, fluffy pillows. And the free breakfast had so many choices, I found myself eating 2 huge plates of food every morning, just to try different things (and still could not try them all) The neighborhood was safe for me to walk around alone, as I am a middle-aged, single, American woman who is traveling in Mumbai by herself. The neighborhood has restaurants, coffee shops, chemists (drug stores), places to buy water/ beer/ snacks. I never felt the least bit afraid venturing out alone in this neighborhood by myself. The local shop keepers and restaurant owners in the neighborhood were very kind to me, as well. All in all, this was the best hotel that I've stayed at in Mumbai.

avoid the place
Front desk staff Jaideep was good, everything else was below average. Noisy place and work still going on. Definitely not worth the money spent and place looked like a motel.

Great hotel with exceptional staff
Nirmal and Danish were exceptional in their service to us, and really helped us feel welcome. They especially went out of their way to help us get cash in the current climate. We found the location of the hotel difficult to convey to a number of taxi and rickshaw drivers, which was the only negative.
