Good place to stay. Near enough to see the city

Mint in Mitte
The apartment is new and modern, well located relative to museums, opera house, and other major sites. It is very comfortable and temperature is adjustable. Galerie Lafayette is a block away where you can stock up on on foodstuff for breakfast, wine or snacks. Check-in and check-out was a breeze and the reception personnel were friendly and very helpful. Taxi stand outside the front door.

Great area, helpful staff. Large room, but not a one bedroom with a separate sleepin area. They should offer American style blankets in addition to the weird German half comforters.

Air conditioning stopped working
Theoretically this is a good concept and if things go well it would be a vey nice stay with lots of privacy. However, on my last night there the air conditioner went out and there was a bad heat wave in Europe. Was a Saturday night right after the front desk clerk had left and all I could do was leave a voicemail which was never returned. Made it very uncomfortable that night and I had to leave the window open all night which negated my privacy and also had my room inhabited by multiple insects by the morning. Actually I'm not even sure if the a/c went out or if they just turn it off after Saturday night but the hallways were hit too. Luckily my flight was for early next morning or it would have been a major issue that Sunday and I would probably have had to look for another hotel. If everything goes right, this is a great concept as you really don't need housekeeping everyday (although you do need more than one bath towel but you can ask for more). But if something goes awry can be very problematic as was here, and i was super careful about not losing my card key after hours. The privacy is great, as was a free laundry room and a balcony. And located right near the Brandenburg gate and Reichtag and shops (although not clubs). However, lack of a/c at the end of my trip left a sour note and that wasn't acceptable especially at these prices. Also, no room service and was a bit of a pain upgrading the wifi for a charge and the subpar connection didn't improve after.

Very helpful front desk: went out of their way to locate an English-speaking doctor's office nearby, when treatment was needed for a rash caused by poison ivy.
