Overall hotel was good. No elevator (or lift) which made it a challenge with luggage.

Back to Greisfwalder Strasse
It was my first time staying there under new management. The renovated bathroom is chic, but I missed the wardrobe for hanging up more than one piece of clothing at a time. The staff was polite and professional but didn't seem to be from the neighborhood, and I wished for more periodicals for information on cultural events. I have always appreciated the quiet of the "Hinterhof" location, and there are definitely enough restaurants nearby.

Good hotel, good location and good staff. There is no lift, be aware if you're caring heavy luggage.

Good value for lovely unassuming hotel
My family of 4 just spent 4 nts at the Old Town Hotel in 6/2015. We stayed in 2 double rooms, which still cost under $200/night. The first impression was kind of disappointing. There’s a cheap looking sign on a busy street, and the lobby and staircase look shabby. However, the rest of the hotel looked fresh, simple and clean. Our rooms and bathroom were small but not uncomfortably so. Although the hotel's sign is on a busy, noisy street, the hotel itself sits behind 2 other buildings. You really can't hear anything from the street, which is amazing. The hotel offers a buffet brunch for 7 euros, which is the going rate in that neighborhood and a very fair value. The brunch includes breads, rolls, vegetables, meats, cheeses, fruits, yoghurt and breakfast beverages. All were fresh and appealingly presented. Special propos to the people at the front desk who were always very pleasant and helpful. One woman in particular went out of her way to help my daughter print and email out some paperwork. The hotel is located almost directly across the street from the M4 tram which travels through Alexanderplatz, where you can transfer to numerous other trams, buses and trains. Hotels.com lists the hotel as located in Prenzlauerberg, which is a trendy neighborhood. While it is on one of the less attractive streets of Prenzlauerberg, it is still within walking distance of all the cute little restaurants and stores in the area.

GREAT LOCATION ON TRAM TO MUSEUM ISLAND
Wide variety of good quality restaurants nearby ranging from Turkish, to Italian, to Spanish to very good Italian. English speaking Staff went out of their way to help us including assistance in calling airlines and using the Tram to easily get to a number of tourist locations.
