Very Good8.0
Stayed three weeks and liked it
Angkor International was a good hotel with a pleasant staff and comfortable room in a good location for the bar action around the river front. By booking online with Hotels.com I got a good price for September then in October the price went up. The problem areas were few and not that troubling. Breakfast was a nice omelet however never any meat and few potatoes, mostly Asian fare (rice, noodles, and vegetables. The wifi was on and off so required so patents, the lighting in the bathroom was very low, and the cable TV had an occasional outage. The bed was comfortable, the shower warm, the AC good, there is an elevator, and the view on the north facing side is not bad. You are close to the sights on the river front and the city has a lot to see however the bar area from 104 street to 172 street is a very poor part of town and can be a little depressing. There are much more expensive hotels and many cheaper rooms that are pretty bad however I was happy with the place and can give it a recommendation.

Meh
Staff are not accommodating and a bit strange. They kept on calling the telephone in my room even though I told them it doesn't work and is very annoying as I can't stop it ringing. I had to get a lift downstairs to tell them. I ended up telling them 4 seperate occasions getting more and more frustrated each time. Their excuses were pathetic or blamed each other. Fridge makes room smell. Safety box can easily be ripped off the wall. Windows don't seal well so quite noisy as in city centre. Good thing is it's location and that's it.

NEVER STAY
This hotel I would never return to because of the poor treatment and demeaning attitude from the hotel checkin clerks which assumed I am Muslim. From, the moment of arrival I was spoken down too and treated disrepectful. I arrived with an head bandage due to an accident prior.  The desk clerk that spoke fairly good english made it very clear that he did not like me as a customer or Muslim. Room was listed with minibar which turned out to be a old refrigerator no temperature knob , no racks, empty, with the electrical plug taped, ripe for a fire. Room window faced within a few ft of  an exterior building wall which echoed all outside noise. No drinking glasses in room so I ask same clerk who said he was not going to give me a glass and to drink out of my hands. When I approached the person stationed  outside acting as security,  he literally ran from me as if timid or scared.  This is the person pictured in their ad , uniformed and at salute. He is the person that is supposed to keep bad people out and provide you some level of security. Your on your own here. Breakfast was included in price and was about average.  Bed hard, ac , slow to cool. Wifi average. Dont understand this hotel has higher rating. Unless, I just got bad clerk, bad room, bad security  which is quite a stretch.   I would never stay here again even a free night. Way too many other places to stay in this area that are much cleaner and not racist.
