Great budget accommodation. The staff were so very nice. This is an older property with wallpaper reminiscent of the 1980s (large floral patterns!) but my room was unbelievable clean and in good condition. Very close to Camden and other seaside spots but at a better price.

We had a problem with the bedding in our room, pillows need replacing; they had a strong odor. Otherwise we enjoyed the setting of the property and our hosts were extremely nice and breakfast was great.

Wonderful hotel with a wonderful host
The Black Horse Inn is awesome, I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a room in this area. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. The room was spacious, well equipped with everything we needed and furnished and decorated lovely! The lady running the hotel is so nice and always helpful! The breakfast was delicious and the service was very good! Everything was clean. One of the best hotels we stayed in during our trip to the US!

Not a good experience
I can't really rate my stay because an extremely rude and unprofessional hotel employee informed me I did not have a reservation even after several confirmations by that I did. I'd like to chalk up her rudeness to a bad day on her part, but she was over the top in nastiness to me and the employee who was trying to help me. Can't imagine these guys will stay in business with employees who treat potential guests like I was treated.

Nice enough, but not worth the price.
If we hadn't timed our visit for the Rockland Lobster Festival (by accident!), we would have switched weekends or locations to find a less-expensive option, but we were locked into the date. Instead we paid a lot of money to stay one night in their largest room -- it was about 50% larger than the average two-queen hotel room and had a whirljet tub. Unfortunately this hotel is in no way worth the $280 price tag, which is why I knocked down the overall score to a 3. Continental breakfast is a variety of muffins, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, coffee/tea, and juice. Getting to the outdoor pool is a walk across a grassy/gravelly hill, and the owner, rather than taking the pool-cleaning robot out to accommodate our family, admonished us to stay away from it and not touch it at all. Made for a good game for the kids, but not conducive to relaxing or doing laps! If I could get a room for closer to $150 I'd go for it again, but not otherwise.
