We liked the location....
We enjoyed our stay at Mercure Portsea for the golf and beaches. I have read other remarks before our stay that warned of being in the middle of nowhere but we didn't really feel that way. Our room was standard and I would certainly pay extra next time to have the golf view. The room we had was at the end of the upper patio, but on ground level and felt confining. There is no view of anything off the outdoor patio other then a fence and spider webs. It was quiet though! We made the most of it by going to the beach in the National Park (very close by) every evening to watch the sunset. If you have a car then the town of Sorrento has some nice little restaurants. We found the staff there very kind and helpful. Our only complaint was the room wasn't that clean. The windows were dirty and the bathroom when we arrived wasn't really the best. Walls need some painting, scuffed likely by golfers that stay brush their golf bags up against the walls. Bedding covers worn looking.

Not a very friendly welcome and no one knew what time the bar was open until. Lovely room though.

Mid-week get away
The hotel is run separately from the golf club and all food/beverages are run by them and they have strict dress codes which would have been good to know before hand.
