Modern with interesting pool.
The hotel is modern, well maintained with very friendly staff (as with most places in Thailand). It seems to appeal to families who are going to spend the majority of time around the pool with an occasional trip out along the beach. The hotel is about 20minutes walk into the centre of town (which is a long way in the heat) which makes it a bit more remote than the competing hotels - Hilton and Centara. It's a fairly cheap taxi into town (150 THB max) but that can add up if going back and forth often. The grounds include a number of pools - including a 'loop' that trails around the site and make a nice alternative to doing lengths. They don't have loungers on the beach but have a tiered grass area adjacent to the beach giving views across the sea. We didn't eat in the hotel - food was very expensive compared to local area and the restaurants seemed fairly empty - but did drink in the bars and they were pleasant. I think the beach bar was a bit tight with the spirits though especially considering relative costs. The room was lovely and to a high standard but they didn't have a turn down service which was surprising for a 5 star hotel.

Nice hotel - service and management poor
The building was nice, new and well designed. On registration we were told that the room we booked so we were being upgraded to a pool access room which we didn't want. After some time they managed to find a room - not the start one would want after a long journey. Our first night we stayed in the hotel and had dinner - which was extremely disappointing - I asked for Lychee martini which they said they could make and it turned up with a large wedge of lemon in it not a lychee in sight - I then iaske for an expresso martini which wasn't drinkable. The food odered varied in description form the menu and when we challanged on of the chefs he wasn't apologetic but brushed it asise saying he didn't take the orders. The beach bar is where they produced the drinks they say they have another bar in the lobby - it is tiny and reallly not the sort of bar (or barman) you would expect at a 5 star hotel. The facilities were good but service poor - mangement presence and suppervsion almost non - existent. Lots of improvrment needed but lots of nearby alternative restuarants and bars which are much better and not expensive - Hagi is one of the more expensive but still cheap in terms of big city 5* Japanesse restaurants.

A wonderful family stay at Marriott Hua Hin
We booked Marriott Hua Hin as a last minute short-stay getaway and absolutely loved it. The resort is quite new, so everything was sparkling and the grounds were lush and green. Our room was the most basic available and exceeded our expectations in terms of size, decor and comfort. All rooms overlook the beautiful pool. We were traveling with our two year old and found the resort to be an excellent choice for families with a brilliant kids pool, water slides and a nice kids club with a good range of toys and activities. We also used the babysitting service one night so we could dine at Big Fish (excellent). All staff were incredibly welcoming, kind and hospitable which made our experience all the more pleasant. Breakfast was included in our rate and well worth it. The buffet spread was excellent with live stations, a very good cold bar and bakery/desserts area (including ice cream to our sons delight!). We have stayed at a few resorts on this trip, and this breakfast was the best to date. Highly recommended. We did not venture far from the resort, so I can’t really comment on location. There is a small shopping centre walking distance which we enjoyed visiting for a change of scenery and a cheap, local meal. I don’t rate the beach the hotel is set on. Fine to look out over, however we didn’t swim or spend time there as it wasn’t particularly pristine.

GREAT stay
Everything is good here in Hua Hin Marriott. What ever you need, you just have it in here, no need to worry about the cleaniness, the amenitities, the location to malls or night markets, they are just in a short distance. The staff is friendly and helpful, esp. thanks to: Wanjeab in Amber Kitchen Gae, Joe, Jaray, Mim, Peaw and Fang Fang at the lobby reception; and there are others ladies at the reception tables when i checked in and came to them for questions, i forgot their names...anyhow, they were all so helpful and full of smiles. There was an occasion that my husband presented the pool staff with 3 towel cards to get 3 towels, but when we returned towels, they marked us as no card and the staff were reluctant to return three cards to us. After i explained, they returned us the cards at last. Hope this would not happen to other tourists.

A great hotel
The hotel is very new, very good and high standard, service was good, entire staff was extremely friendly, service minded and always there to help. Even it's a big hotel, the staff was good at make you feel at home. Food is great, especially at Big Fish & Bar, the breakfast is huge and there are plenty to choose from. This hotel is a family friendly hotel, so therefore sometimes a bit to many kids around, having said that you can easy find a nice quiet little spot. But you have to be up very early to get a sunbed around the pool, as the families wake up early and throws their towels at sunrise to reserve it :) The gym is nice, clean and fairly big, so it dosen't get overcrowded, good cardio options - some free weights and a limited machines for weight lifting. But overall - not doubt good value for the money, the rooms are big and if you have the ones with pool access you can easily go for a swim. Otherwise the beach is right in front of you where you can take a dip in the ocean. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the light is very nice.
