Fresh and clean and inviting.
For me it fitted exactly what I wanted, nice and quite out of the way

Functional Accommodation
Working in the area I wanted a reasonably priced room for the night. This fitted the bill - clean, tidy apart from an empty beer can under the bed. Tea and coffee in room. The unusual thing about the accommodation was that the night before I received a text giving me details of how to find the Hotel, and that the key would be in the door of the room. You enter between two shops and the accommodation is above. At no time did I see anyone - there is no foyer just stairs to the accommodation above. I left the key in the door the next morning and went on my way. This was not a problem just seemed slightly odd. I would have no qualms about staying here again in the future if I was in the area. For the price it is reasonable accommodation. The reason I gave 1 star for Hotel Service is because there wasn't any so could not rate it - unfortunately the website would not let me leave it blank.

Inexpensive alternative to major chains or b&b
No room service or front desk, so check-in via text message. Various rooms are located in two separate properties either side of a quiet country road. Read your instructions carefully and the whole process is reasonably straightforward. The proprietor is happy to help via mobile if necessary. Overall, good value for money.

Yep, basic
I booked this room because it stated it had a fridge - I was aware that there was no breakfast available but with a fridge I could sort out something ready for our early start on Sunday. Nope, no fridge in the room. So why say the room has a fridge when it doesn't?? The other niggles were smaller - nowhere to park when we arrived as there appeared to be a party going on locally and there were vehicles abandoned in every conceivable space, no wifi, not even a router name came up on search, the room door was so stiff even my husband struggled to shut it properly - glad I wasn't on my own or I would have had to try to sleep with the door stuck ajar. Good points - the bed was reasonably comfy and the bathroom was fine (except for the broken handle on the shower door). I was prepared for basic, I could cope with the text instructions about which room we were in (number 7) and where to find the key etc, but I was just grateful I'd only booked for one night. This room is primarily targeted at contractors - the double bed is up against the wall so you can only get in on one side, the marking on the headboard shows where someone has spent a lot of time lying propped up in bed watching TV, there are notices up everywhere telling you what you can or can't do, and the cans of Stella in the cupboard?? We left them where they were, pretty sure they weren't part of the hospitality tray. The room did the job, but we shan't be rushing back to stay here in a hurry, I'm afraid.

Poor value
We stayed here for one night. It's not what you would call a conventional hotel. There is no reception or receptionist. It's just a small building with a few bedrooms. When we eventually found the place, which was not easy, we simply walked in and went to the room that had been allocated to us via a text message. The keys had been left in the door for us. we never saw anyone from the moment we arrived to the moment we left! As for the room itself, it all looked like it had been thrown together in a hurry. The door didn't open or close too well, the carpet was a bit threadbare and the bed had seen better days. In fact my wife refused to sleep in it. we ended up sleeping on top of it, cross ways as the mattress sloped so far down towards the headboard, which was grubby by any standards. There was no air conditioning or fan cooler just a small window for ventilation. Which would have been fine if it had been winter but this was mid summer and the temperature outside was approaching thirty degrees c! On the plus side the television in our room was a big one and worked well as did the shower. And the accommodation is set in the picturesque village of Findon which, if you have the time, is well worth a walking around. However, at £45.00 per room per night we felt that this represented poor value for money and would not recommend it.
