Beautiful hotel - needs customer service boost
The room we stayed in was under the restaurant of the hotel and was very loud. In my opinion, these rooms should not be sold since the noise is constant minus the hours of 11pm- 6am. The service at the hotel was worse than most places. We always felt rushed during our meals to finish even though they weren't busy. Also, they ran out of many items on the menu during our stay. Overall, the hotel is very very beautiful and has a lot of potential if the service is improved.

Absolutely Incredible!
Sleeping Giant is a gem of a hotel, located on the beautiful Hummingbird Highway. They are centrally located and within an hours drive of many different activities (including cave tubing, St. Herman's, San Ignacio, Bocawina, Belize Zoo, etc). The guestrooms were perfectly appointed and, like the grounds, meticulously maintained. We stayed in a River View Room, which will be where we stay every time we come back.It was close to the main lodge, pool, and restaurant, but far enough away to feel more private. The outdoor shower and tub were wonderful, a perfect way to unwind. The balcony overlooking the river was so peaceful and we spent many evenings relaxing there. The bed was super comfy. The grounds are stunning. Beautiful flowers and foliage surrounds you. The groundskeepers take pride in their work. But, most importantly, the staff is absolutely incredible. The moment we walked in (to the wrong place!), Gareth welcomed us "home" and got us a welcome cocktail before showing us where we were supposed to be. He was a delight and was our server many times--a true gem of an employee. Knowledgeable and kind! He told us about different places to journey to while we were staying there during the days and always pointed us in the right direction. We also had Ami, Nicklaus, and Eduardo as servers and all are wonderful people! The Front Desk staff was super helpful and went out of their way to assist us. The restaurant is delicious, too!

The driveway requires a 4x4, but all else is an A
The road in off Hummingbird Hwy was almost unpassable! Once we got inside the main gate, it didn't get much better. However, the grounds and facility were very impressive. I thought the guy who checked us in was stressed or just not having a great day. Besides that, the service was great.

Incredible Stay in the Jungle
The Sleeping Giant Lodge is an exceptional resort! The staff, Eugene, Maria, Jessica, Brian and the rest, were so friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are amazing. We stayed in a Casita, which was so luxurious and wonderfully romantic. I can't wait to go back.
