6/10 Good

4 star hotel charging 5 star prices...
The hotel is very good, with a modern twist but I don't understand the 5 star rating. Service was OK, welcoming door man was very pleasant. reception was functional and compact. room was a good size with flat pack furniture nothing 5 star but very good. bathroom had stains on the floor and black stains in the shower. in a four star I would haven't noted! there is no sense of occasion with the hotel (such as the Merrion or Intercontinental etc), nothing unique and can't understand the five star rating, in fact I wold feel strongly that its over sold! I had booked two rooms for a one night stay to see a concert nearby. We arrived back at the hotel shortly after 11pm, to discover the roof top bar closed at 11pm (on a Saturday night), so we had to sit in the foyer bar. we hadn't eaten since lunch and had enquired about food. the only option we had been offered would to have room service in our room. Being a 5 star hotel and providing customer centric 5 star service, I was hoping for that little bit extra. would it have been a better option to say, kitchen is closed but I the circumstances we can give you a few option from room service, there in the lobby? instead we were met with a manager who started to point out that we couldn't have food and no other hotel won provide for (which is not correct) and spent 5-minutes making the point we were not getting food for many reasons..! I would expect that from premier inn and not 5-star establishment. ive no interest in going back.

The Marker hits the Mark
Excellent hotel, great position and convenient for theatre , concerts and nightlife with short taxi journey at most. Excellent staff especially Bernard on the door, reception staff were great also as was the duty manager who was nee we introduced but addressed me by name it's the little things. Valet parking great , bags in room and coats hanging up before you make the room a nice touch. Roof top bar is a nice place to spend time and the cocktails are good. Breakfast and room service excellent and the table trolleys used for delivery with heated cabinets meant food still piping hot over an hour after arrival. Good facilities in room and great bathrooms with heated floors . Not the cheapest but a very nice treat and we will return .

Amazing stay. All the reception staff were very helpful. Vincent at the rooftop bar was very attentive to detail and went the extra mile to make it special for us.

6/10 Good

Just a fancy hotel, not more than that.
This hotel is ok - not amazing. I would not rank it a "leading hotel of the world." Firstly - they did not respond to my pre-arrival email requesting to make a spa appointment until ~1 month after my stay. Of course, when I arrived, there were no appointments (disappointing to say the least). Secondly - I was a bit early for check in - so, OK, I sat and had food in their restaurant - they were supposed to call me when the room was ready. No call. Eventually (some hours later) I grow impatient and go check... what do you know, the room was ready - but, why wasn't I called to avoid the waiting around and doubt? This hotel needs a lesson in how to run a top hospitality operation. Service is not special. The hotel is otherwise nice and the room was large and comfortable, but for ~500 EUR per night, one expects good service too.

6/10 Good

We have stayed in many 5 star hotels and The Marker would be bottom of our list. We did not find the majority of the staff friendly, we weren't even informed as to where breakfast would be served or what the time line was. Figure it out on the bedroom TV. We were 3 adults in one room and to pay €535 for one of us to sleep on a camp bed. Overall not very impressed. Would book elsewhere next time.
