Old and horrible Wifi, but convenient location
Old hotel, clean enough, but small rooms and old facilities. No air conditioning and very hot in August. The bed has one thick blanket completely unsuitable for the weather. Fans were not available from the front desk. One woman who staffed the front desk seemed to be bothered by any and all requests regarding the room, but was otherwise helpful about navigating the city. The man was very friendly and helpful. WiFi was absolutely horrible. Barely adequate WiFi could be found only by sitting in the lobby. Wouldn't stay here again. Very close to a social hub of the city and the subway station.

In late 90's if stayed there multiple times. Hotel is in same condition and needs a mayor update. Employee at frontdesk was talking at phone for over 20 minutes and didn't even ask me to please wait or apolagized when done. Empty water bottle behind headboard. Towels all old and broken. Not staying there till they renovate the rooms.

A Perfect Business Hotel
It's located a stones throw from a subway to get to the Congress Centre, the Konigsallee shopping area, and Alt Stadt bars, pubs, and restaurants. I went for a run one morning and there are great parks and the Rhine promenade. The carpets and towels are threadbare, and the bed was the standard "plank" single bed (but comfortable). Everything was very clean, and the breakfast fabulous. I wouldn't bring my spouse here, but on business travel (or any sort of budget travel) I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Not good
The only good thing about this hotel was its location. It is right in the Altstadt and easy to get to on public transport. The hotel is old and dated and my room whilst on first inspection looked clean, was actually not so great. The sink was blocked (something the person cleaning the room should have noticed) and as soon as I ran the tap somebody else's hair flowed up which was quite frankly, disgusting. The check in was unfriendly and the receptionist, who couldn't find my room booking at first, didn't seem to care at all. I had to stay here as it was the only room available at short notice due to the exhibition, but I would opt to take the night train home next time if this is my only choice for accommodation.
