ok for one night, over priced
The hotel is close to our daughter's home. The hotel is older, in dire need up upgrading especially for the price. The bed is comfy, old TV with 4 channels, no internet, fridge. The bathroom could use updating. This wasn't our first choice.

Worth Every Bit of $45 per Night
We arrived near 8:00 pm. The front office was closed. An envelope held our key. A man poked his head out of the door to make sure we got our envelope. Our room brought to mind a Hitchcock or Wes Anderson movie. Never upgraded or redecorated since maybe the 1960's. Good points: The mattresses were comfy, the room was spacious enough, and it was very clean. I liked the towels very much, too--they were soft and big. Also, it was convenient to be able to park (for free) right in front of the room. Not good points: The decor--it smelled and looked as if we visited a time-warped granny's house...which some people might like. My pillows were as hard. The shower water, when on made a weird whining sound. I turned on the TV for a little while before sleep, and DirecTV appeared to not work that night. Instead of the usual five channels offered, there were just three. Plus, there was no connectivity to wi-fi at all. First world problem I acknowledge; however when traveling with a teenager, having no wi-fi can be disastrous. The walls appeared to be wafer thin. The family next door were having a normal, discussion, yet sounded as if they were in our room; their voices carried into our room. In the morning I noticed the owners of the lodge owned a very nice, newish Hummer truck with the hotel's name on the back window. I wondered, if they could afford a Hummer, maybe they could afford to fix the plumbing--carpet, new bedspreads?
