8/10 Very Good

Tarnished treasure
This resorts is right on the beach with balconies overlooking the pool, hot tub and ocean. It’s a huge beach, very nice, but not pet friendly, so if you’re bringing your dog to the pet friendly resort you will have to travel to another beach. We went to the Fort De Soto dog beach which had a lot of off leash big dogs (our dog is only 4 lbs) and the signs warned of no swimming because of currents. The hotel was expensive ($450 a night) and they tack on nightly resort fees ($35) plus nightly pet fee ($75) plus taxes. I thought this was exorbitant considering the room could have been cleaner - there was mold in our shower! What really upset me was that the maid forgot to bring us bottled water (included in resort fee) one night, then skipped room service all together the next night. I had to call the front desk for water, towels and toilet paper. That’s unacceptable at this price point. The restaurant was nice, Paul the bartender was super friendly, the food was good. Overall, this was a nice place to go to relax and enjoy the beach (don’t bring your dog). I just wish the maids had been more on top of things - it might have been a whole different experience.
