Great location but very basic budget accommodation
Great location in town centre, with free parking available at rear. Single room was small, with a bed and a small chest of drawers - there was no space for any other furniture. Bathroom likewise small and rather cramped. Host was friendly enough, but a man of few words. Nice traditional cooked breakfast, but no communication about "what would you like?" Cheap, and okay for an overnight stay. Cloud wifi worked well.

Perfect city centre hotel
The hotel is a town centre pub with ample parking out the back (don't forget to edit Sat Nav postcode to take you the right way!). The pub itself is quiet, serves a good pint and the rooms are sufficiently away such that you're not disturbed. Location of the pub is very central for access to the town. Rooms are basic but clean and warm. Breakfast was perfect. All-in-all very good value for money.

Central B&B that's basic, but clean.
Disappointed that they weren't able / willing to serve breakfast before 9.30 on a Sunday, but Black Boy is only a few yards from a well-known-chain pub that opens at 7am for breakfast, and the BB did knock £5 off the bill. The room was fine, though could do with a little bit of grout whitening here and there. The TV remote had the legend worn off on many buttons, so a bit of guesswork was needed, and the TV's response was very slow, though this may just mean the r/c needs new batteries. I'm not sure that I would have booked the room had I known there was karaoke on till midnight; it could be heard loudly in my room. NB I have rated "property services" medium as I'm not sure what it is and I only stayed one night without breakfast.
