Not sure if I should continue to use hotels.com
My family of four booked a two queen bed room 4 weeks in advance and even checked in online 24 hrs before confirming such but driving to hotel got a call informing us that they moved us to a king room with pull out sofa. Upon arrival the room was not adequate for four people the sofa pull out only was big enough for one person. The hotel offered free snacks and points to my Marriott account but could not change rooms. It seems when booking through hotels.com you typically can get a better price and collect free nights but unfortunately the properties view you as “second class” and will not offer discount or money in return. I contacted hotels.com who also reached out to the property with same result. They did give me $50 future credit but seems minimal when I had already paid in full before stay for a room that did not accommodate my family.
