Hampton Inn Manhattan/United Nations, New York
Exceptional10.0
Clean and cozy
The staff was very pleasant. The hotel was very clean. I didn't partake in the complimentary breakfast (I was enjoying sleep). The room however was smaller than my bedroom at home. Modern & clean. Just very "cozy". Overall it was a pleasant overnight stay.

a vacation in the Hampton
terrific location, with the subway just a block away at Grand Central Station and an easy walk to midtown tourist sites and the upper east side shopping. Despite construction next door, hotel was surprisingly quiet. Intimate experience for a chain, and we loved the late afternoon chocolate chip cookies and the 24/7 access to coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the breakfast room. Room was large, very comfortable and the shower deliciously hot. Wish the room doors automatically closed (almost left it ajar once--realize this cuts down on lockouts, but security is important), and could use a shelf in the bathroom for toiletry bag. The bathroom is huge, an anomaly in New York and very wonderful. The included breakfast was lovely as well. I'll definitely be back.

Visit with our son
Nice variety at breakfast. We like the location, close to where my son lives and plenty of dining options nearby. A little off the beaten path so you avoid some of the craziness of Manhattan.

Very good, reasonably priced option
Perfectly good option for NYC at a reasonable price. Rooms are small, but pretty normal for NYC. Friendly and helpful staff. Standard amenities / condition / cleanliness for this category of hotel....which puts it way above most comparably priced non-chain hotels in NYC. Location is a little inconvenient (very far east in midtown)
