Checking in to the hotel is smooth. Counter staff is welcoming and warm. However, one staff from the kitchen/bar was pretty rude that day when we had our breakfast at the hotel. We were their 2nd customer at the restaurant, and the only couple waiting at the queue; they weren't busy at all, however we were only attended to after much wait and eye contact with the staff as we're trying to get their attention. The part that pissed me was this staff asking me and my partner, casually, "are u from China?", when we were making our way to get food. I replied no, then he walked away. I was puzzled why he'd ask that, thinking if he's expecting someone from China? But it feels more like he's just being judgmental. I went over to feedback this unpleasant breakfast experience to their manager at the check in counter. Susan appeared understanding and apologetic towards her staff's words and actions. I felt offended from that "casual" discriminating question. It really reflected how unprofessional and rude he was, when he could have asked in a better way IF he's genuinely interested to know which country we came from. And so what if we were really from China? Is he planning to treat me differently? I did not judge him from where he came from, I did not talk down to him? His actions and words should not be tolerated. This was a extremely disappointing encounter we had from the hotel.

Nice digs!
My daughter & I spent a pleasant weekend at the Pegasus. The room was nice & clean, we were in fact upgraded from a 2 singles room to 2 queens, a nice surprise after a long drive from Sydney that day. Check-in & out was easy & explained well & the staff unobtrusive, not "in your face" friendly, but professional, which I appreciated. Parking costs $25 per night. The hotel is located about a block from the Victoria Markets, which is great if buying lots of goodies! I would recommend using the tram stop at the top of the hill, rather than walking 2 blocks downhill. The location is right next door to "Little Korea", (which you won't find marked on any map) & there is a great little restaurant down the street, as well as a handy mini-mart around the corner. The bathroom was reasonably well equipped, however we did have a wet bathroom floor & towels on the first night, as the back of the shower head sprayed a small spray of water when moved, but we soon sorted out the problem & had fresh towels the next day. The outer window blinds were also damaged, due to rough handling by clients, but this did not affect their function. The TV could have done with Foxtel or a movie channel, but was adequate. We only ate in the restaurant on one night, the meal was generous & quick, & the staff friendly, even happy to do a "doggy bag" for the fussy teenager. The only thing I would warn against, was accepting the offer of "mineral water" before dinner, too expensive at $12.50.

Definitely run by Chinese for the Chinese!
I am a frequent traveler so i was surprised when certain standards were not met. Simple things such as having a TV in the bedroom, who doesn't like watching TV in bed? The TV in the living room was only equipped with free-to-air channels. One afternoon, we were chilling in the hotel room WITHOUT the room service sign up, and a service lady yells "room service!" and opens the door. Quickly I yelled (as I was butt naked in bed lol) and said "No thanks!" She then continually knocked as if she was going to come in again. We ignored her. She then proceeded to dial the room phone and asked if we needed room service... Regardless of this, the room service (when we did get it) was great. Furthermore, the bathroom was SO small considering we got a family room, and no en-suite. There was no wardrobe in the main bedroom (or they put the king bed in the small room and the 2 single beds, which we did not request, in the main room?). What was also disappointing was that there was no 24-hour, or room delivery meals! They left us some take-away thai/chinese cuisine menu in the bedroom that is only valid until 9:30pm and we had to pick it up form the restaurant downstairs!? The menu wasn't even worth trying, you would be better off getting UberEats for sure. All in all I wouldnt say the hotel ruined my trip, but I definitely was not looking forward in returning to my room each night.. Overall, just really poor design on the Architecture and Builder's end.

Short mid-week family stay
We arrived on an early-morning flight, and, although our room was not available at that early hour, the reception staff were so helpful with arranging to hold our bags. We were then pointed in the direction for a delicious family breakfast. We received a phone call a few hours prior to check in time, to advise our room was ready. When we arrived in our room, we noticed the lounge room furniture was very old and the material worn and slightly stained (due to the wearing of the fabric). The seats were extremely uncomfortable and the padding was almost non-existent in the two arm chairs, and the sofa was also very uncomfortable. We also moved one of the arm chairs and found rubbish underneath from a previous guest. The beds, however, were very comfortable, and provided us a good nap on our first afternoon. The location is handy for the Queen Victoria Markets, Carlton Gardens and the Museum, plus close to the free city tram. The location, however, provided a very noisy atmosphere - with a LOT of construction going on around the area. We endured jackhammering (happening somewhere outside our building) from 7am each morning - which the external windows did not at all deaden. We were pleased with the restaurant downstairs in the lobby - providing us two out of our three dinners. One was taken up and eaten in our room, and the other eaten in the restaurant. The great thing about having young children is the early dinner time and having no one else in the restaurant.

Falls Short of The Mark
Didn't start great as reception simply told we were in room 614.Should have been directed to lifts & since there are specific sets of lifts for floors, told to use the 2nd set. I commented on this through & received a call from front desk wanting to discuss it, at 8:40 pm at night!I declined as our 5 yr old was asleep. We noticed general maintenance & cleaning were average. Such as: Table & chair had fresh coffee stains,Carpets has stains,Note pad in the room had only 2 pages,Bedside table chipped repeatedly,Bathroom sink has missing enamel size of a 50 cent piece,Clean cup had tea liquid residue & leaves in it,Blockout blind trimmed to fit & not had the seal hemmed so it has flecked away,Blockout blinds had gaps of 1cm between them so lights of the office tower across the street shine through,Windows thin or poorly sealed as on a Sat night it is noisy from the back packer bar next door,Bathroom light switch has chipped away paint around it, Mould on the bottom of the showerscreen,Shower head has a spraying leak above the head,A sprinkler head not fitted correctly in the ceiling,No tissues in tissue box, Bathroom lock does not work. For some unknown reason they service the room of inhouse guests between 3pm and 5pm so if you go out for the day in the morning with your kids, don't be home till dark or your room may not be done!We won't stay here again. Its a great spot to walk to Queen Vic Market, but its a 3 star hotel asking 4.5 star prices.

No Frills Easy Stay
The hotel is a reasonable option if you need to stay in Melbourne and can afford to be away from the immediate CBD. As the proximity to the CBD was not an issue for us, it was a good place to choose. The initial impression of the hotel lobby was that it was modern with a good ambience about it. The check-in staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. They also respected our specific hotel requirements in regards to location and we were very pleased with their attention to detail. The room itself was a mix of modern and a touch of tiredness. There was a modern kitchen with full facilities including gas cooktop and black counter tops and cabinets, alongside a reasonable sized black desk. The bed was a queen size and acceptably comfortable and combined with a choice of soft/medium pillows for each visitor. The bathroom was a nice size considering the overall size of the apartment which was a tad squishy. Upon entering the apartment, there was a mildly unpleasant odour but once it came to the attention of the hotel management, they were very responsive to the comment and were happy to put a remediation plan into action. 5 STARS for that effort!! The bedside cabinets were badly scuffed and dated, with a simple side light which was easy to use. The service staff were careful to ensure that they did not move personal items around while attending to the room's service needs and that is a real plus, as we hate to have to look around for our items after a rrom has been serviced.

Pegasus is a perfect place to stay. As an Expedi Gold Status we received great discount on parking, which is easy to access and you have in/out priviledges. We booked a twin single room and received an upgrade to a Deluxe Twin Double. Plus 20% off if we ate in the restaurant, which we didn’t but did order food, awesome Calamari Fritti. You just need to go down to pick up the food yourself. Huge room. Lovely bedding and the bed is extremely comfortable. 2 nice lounge chairs, table and chairs for eating, right at the window, which had a beautiful tree for partial privacy so you can comfortably raise the blinds. There is a big wall TV, plenty of space for 2 suitcases and a work station, add to that plenty of coathangers, slippers, iron, blowdryer and a good sized bathroom. The kitchenette proved invaliable since this was a working trip for one of us. Made breakfast easy and the mini fridge is a good size and kept the Wine nicely chilled! 20m lap pool Which we used and well maintained small gym Perfectly positioned to enable you to see all of Melbourne from this location. 3min from Queen Vic Markets, free Trams throughout the city and just beyond. Great park at the end of the road. There are places to eat very close but we found wonderful places all over the area if you just walk 10 min. Very safe at night. Supermarket 10 min walk, tram end of street. Staff are lovely, very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyable place to stay. Defintely would recommend to anyone.

comfortable hotel walking distance to central
i got free upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment , free breakfast for 1, late check out extension for 2hr, 20% off for all food as part of Expedia VIP gold member. But i'm traveling alone and check out at 6am due to my schedule. Requested for early check in but no available room upon arrival as the hotel is busy. But staff is helpful and i managed to check in at 2pm. A welcome letter with details information about the hotel is provided upon check in, which is helpful. the apartment is comfortable and should be enough for 4 adults as it come with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. Only one air conditioner unit in the living room that supply the air to both room. Clean apartment with full kitchen appliance. No clothes washer in the apartment, but self service laundry can be found on level 1. free wifi in the apartment and it work well. The only point that i personally dont like is the window blind, which need to individually roll down (2 on living room, 2 on bedroom). Breakfast is good, with international selection. I'm surprise to find fried rice in the breakfast, nice and tasty. Check out is fast and there are few taxi waiting around the hotel which make it really convenient if you need one.

Good Wheelchair Accessibility for our needs.
Even before my daughter and I arrived, staff were smart and helpful! Our flight had been changed, so we arrived late evening, rather than mid-afternoon . Also, I had pre-ordered a grocery delivery, but our late arrival resulted in it arriving before us. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two friendly staff who had expected us earlier and were sympathetic to our delay. Even though I had not advised them about the grocery delivery, they had received them, taken them to our room, unpacked and put the cold items in the fridge, showing excellent initiative! They confirmed a shower chair I had requested was in the room. Upon meeting my daughter, they also suggested an accessible bathroom for showering (I had not requested an accessible room, but my daughter uses a wheelchair and can do assisted standing transfers(a.s.t)), there was one next to their pool and it may be convenient to shower there, as the shower in our room was only standard size. This was a very smart suggestion and we used this clean, modern bathroom every day after our pool exercise. The pool was excellent, however accessibility is limited with no stairs/ramp into water. Only ladder. We used a.s.t. in and swam over the in pool/spa wall to exit via the spa bench with another a.s.t. Our room was spacious, well equipped for studio apartment and big enough for our lightweight electric wheelchair. The Pegasus was conveniently located. We recommend and we will stay there again.
