Grumpy staff - Great location
First of all the location is excellent. BTS right outside the front of the hotel. Short walk to the best Siam shopping malls; Hard Rock Cafe within walking distance; and plenty of other places to eat and/or coffee shops. However, stay was marred by several grumpy members of staff who seemed to have forgotten how to smile and be polite. Not asking for much, just a hello and a smile! Our son became sick during our stay at the hotel and so we asked for late check out on our last day as our flight wasn’t until 10pm. They kindly agreed to a 2 hour extension to 2pm but our request to keep the room until 6pm was refused and we were charged an extra nights stay just for 4 more hours. Understand this is a hotel policy but given our son’s illness a little more understanding would have been appreciated. Room was good. Nice bathroom. Very quiet where we were on the 28th floor. Breakfast was average and the dining area is too small. We had to queue for a long time to be seated despite the best efforts of the staff to clean tables as people left. Oh and there’s a great 7eleven on the ground floor.

5 day stay witnessed poor service
Another corporate hotel. Guests arriving in conveyor belts. Most guests stayed here 1-2 nights then leave. We were here for 5 days so saw quite a lot. Management/staff in restaurant bar do not care for their guests - you are just a number. Restaurant staff appear to be over worked and stressed. I saw a women in grey suit (manager clearly on a power trip) shouting at the bar staff in front of other guests. Really toxic environment. I suggest managers use their common sense and speak to their staff in private. I've stayed in many Mercure hotels but this one was disappointing. Breakfast was limited for vegetarians. My mum had limited food she could eat there. I had brought some instant oat porridge from back home. I used to ask the staff to heat this for her everyday... That was horrible. It was like I'd asked the staff for their kidneys. No friendly smiles or happiness at breakfast. One even seen to raise her voice at a guest at breakfast all because he asked her for some tea (self service she said and walked off). He had limited mobility for God sake!!! At breakfast the tables are arranged so close to each other you may as well be sitting on top of the guest next to you. Its not a 4 star id say more 3 based on their services and attitude towards guests. The cleaner however just lovely, always greeting guests with a smile. As for location it's really good. Within easy access to MBK mall and other malls. Our room small with stains on the carpet.

Exceptional
Great Location, Wonderful Views of the city
Our stay in Mercure made the Bangkok experience even better. Our superior room was very big with loads of space to store our bags and clothes. The bed however wasn't very comfortable and gave my husband a backache. The in room fridge, however, is tiny. I would have expected it to be slightly bigger so we can put some fruit or bottles of water in the fridge. You are given only two bottles of water in 24 hours and if you run out then there aren't any more available so you need to make sure you have extra water (which you can buy from the 7/11 on the ground floor). I don't see why extra water can't be given though if you need it. If you happen to not have used all of your water one day they would not give you two more for the next day. The breakfast buffet is huge and with all the usual varieties but unfortunately lacked taste in the cooked variety of food - Until the day they had the miso soup as an option :) That was amazing!!! Everyday the best thing about the buffet was the papaya they put out. Thai papaya is the best I have tasted anywhere. That itself says a lot about the taste of the cooked food. They are also very good at selling their breakfast which, unfortunately, meant that the breakfast place got really busy and sometimes we had to wait to get a seat for breakfast It was very nice of them to have a halal corner but that was pretty unimaginative. Every day they had chicken sausage with two other options which weren't really appetising (apart from when they ha

Very Good
Location is great. The hotel is located right in front of National Stadium BTS and within walking distance of MBK and Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon. A couple of massage places in the vicinity. The pool was not as pictured though. It is not an infinity pool as bushes covered the view. They also did not provide bathrobes, slippers, toothpaste and toothbrush. Was pleasantly surprised to receive a birthday cake though. Overall a pleasant experience and might stay here again in the future.
